Bangladesh Socio-Political Crisis 2024 and onwards

If someday the US wants to assist the independence of India's northeastern states, Bengal would indeed be a good base. But the US needs India right now, and they won't rush into Bengal.

Any country maintaining a military presence in Bengal is bound to lead to a violent reaction from India, and Indians are not stupid.

Can we stop this talk about US military base in BD?

BD population and BA would never tolerate a foreign base in BD.

Even bribing the generals is pointless as the rank and file officers and soldiers will not listen to them and rebel as we just saw.

This is a country that has no wish to be anything apart from a sovereign state.

I'm sorry, I'll stop immediately.

BD paid in blood for its independence many times in the past and has no wish to be the b*tch of any foreign power. Even the 1857 mutiny against UK had a disproportionate amount of BD soldiers in it, that the UK afterwards never trusted BD'shis to man the British "Indian" Army.

This is country that wants good relations with the 3 major powers that matter to it - USA, China and India. A military base to any one of these 3 does not fit the picture.

Diego Garcia geographically far away from India.... I would say it was never India's... Its more of Mauritius island....

And main point is they can even do it today like blackmailing us... they do not need to stay geographically closure to us to do these things... the have done this in the past.... 1971 they sent entire 7th fleet to destroy India.... today they have such a modern fleet and submarines with ICBMs that their single submarine can destroy 11 major Indian cities with impunity.... what can we do?

Instead give them 1 or 2 islands get under their protection shield and keep developing economy be a first world nation.... instead handling alone China and Pakistan type 2 nuclear powers with close cooperation with each other compromising 1 or 2 islands is the best solution.... Japan, South Korea, UK these are also the great powers still they also do the compromises...
US doesn't want to protect India; they aim to break India into multiple small countries to ensure it never challenges their global hegemony. The rise of India and China has been described as a double trouble for USA.

its rebuilding a new nation, it not material , its developing new thought process, where elite is defeated or may be not fully defeated. But a great change brought by the brave students of Bangladesh, keep going , don t stop.

Look at the title of the thread - and look where you are....

OK It was slightly off topic

Buy we live in an interconnected world

What happens in Bangladesh affects India

That is why we have to maintain a strong presence on the Border ,even though the Two countries are having a supposedly " friendly relationship "

BD will have much less interference from India and Hindutva. That is a given. We fully understand your pain. This is essentially Afghanistan 2.0 for you guys.
Actually, India will do great if it is indeed an Afghanistan 2.0. :ROFLMAO:

You guys still haven't answered the question. Did the ISI orchestrate this change or not? We just ask for a simple yes or no.

It is All in Bangladesh's hands to decide what kind of relationship do they want with India

The ideal situation would be to have Pakistan like Relationship

Indians need absolute clarity

So that we can take the Remedial Measures

Chile, South Korea and Taiwan are excellent examples of countries that progressed with right wing authoritarian regimes and they eased up when there was some economic growth. Those countries have fraction of Bangladesh and Pakistan's populations

@Nilgiri and @Joe Shearer :
Please see this. I respectfully disagree with your posts. I don't want to go anymore Off topic than already been but you two are among my favorites from India so good to hear from you after a long time.
But a few words: Stability, whether Right or Left wing, brutal or benevolent, can lift nations to the next stage by educating more people--and 'education' in every sense of the word--and moving people up on the Maslow's Pyramid. In that sense, Hasina seemed to have unshackled BD from the long era of instability since 1971. Even the images of the protestors on the street show people in much better shape/clothed than 12-15 years ago. I believe same is happening in India but its just that India's problem is too many Indians! And I think, for all its fault, Stalin lifted the Soviets higher--he even lifted the 'Stans higher.
Maybe we touch upon these topics in another thread.

India badly abused Bangladesh , last 15 years India utilize Bangladesh Garment quota to earn billions by providing cotton "only from India " and used Bangladesh quota to sell India products in EU and US. Haseena was more India stooge then sincere to Bangladeshi people.

“You people are descendants of the Awami League! This country is in a bad shape because of you. You should leave the country,” the mob shouted at the residents before leaving with the loot.
Seems like you forgot to read this part. Anti awami league sentiment is very high at this moment. BAL supporters are fuked in Bangladesh. It has nothing to do with race or religion.
.
And I might sound harsh, but nobody except our elites gives a flying fuk about what happens to BAL supporters lives and properties. (and hindu BAL supporters private mandirs)
.
Except BAL supporters Bangladeshis are sleeping well...

USA's decision not to establish a military base in Bangladesh is influenced more by objections from India than by Bangladesh's stance. countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE have provided bases to the USA, regardless of local population opinions.
