To be honest I prefer retirement age should be increased at all level. It should not be specific to services chiefs or heads.

Why do members think the solution to the problem is splitting Punjab province into multiple provinces?

Pakistan's provincial setup fosters ethnic jingoism at the expense of Pakistani nationalism. The main political parties (except PTI) are formed along provincial/ethnic lines and people vote for them mostly along ethnic lines.

There is no Pakistaniat in Pakistan. There is only Punjabiat, Sindhiat, and Pakhtuniat. The other provinces are too inconsequential to be able to afford their own -iat.

Not only Punjab, but Sindh and KPK should also be broken down so Pakistan has 30 or so smaller political units which are more amenable to accountability.

A large number of states will also help democracy and accountability by deterring collusion. Look at India. Two crooks can form a bond of 'I scratch your back, you scratch my back' but it's hard to get 29 or 30 crooks to collude on anything, so it keep everyone more honest.

Canadian provinces and American states are almost as big if not bigger than entire Pakistan.

Canadian provinces and American states are not built along ethnic lines.

The generals are doing whatever America tells them to do.

America is telling the generals to to things that are more likely to lead to the breakup of Pakistan. This includes things like not tackling separatist movements other than at face value.

This also includes doing things that will destabilise Pakistan...this includes a bad economy. They won't tell them directly...."you must destabilise Pakistan". But will say things like don't fully support CPEC. leave Chinese nationals unprotected....all these actions have consequences.

I've used baby language for the loyal donkeys on this forum.

Thank you.

At first we all criticised the elite, waderas, politicians for destroying Pakistan and now everyone is after the Generals and ISI. If it's true that the generals and ISI is betraying Pakistan then it's already too late, our nuclear program, security, defence is all compromised. The only way to sort this mess out is to form parliamentary committe and meet with the generals, ask them what do they want? We all know they want to control foreign and internal policies, make long term agreements on policies and then concentrate on reforms and making the state strong. Pakistan cannot change their main policies every 5 years or everytime a new general comes to power, it's a circus.

The circus of power hungry corrupt individuals. What a joke this country and its military has become. Zero Professionalism.

Even the Air Chief is retired on extension.

60% is ignorant.
This is a gross underrepresentation. The majority are illiterate. When we have the likes of the chuff chuff pir in official settings amongst generals that is a good indicator of how stupid the population is. Unregulated madrassas is the cause of this. The army and their chachas love it.

Everyone talking about doomsday scenario, rather pointing out the source of all the problem, which is Asim Muneer and his goons in GHQ. Just few individuals that can be counted on fingers. Is it really that difficult to name and shame these rats and start talking about their removal for the sake of Pakistan?

So all the ruling elite, judges, generals, waderas, politicians, beaucrats, civil force are graduates from the maddrassas?. The reality is just like the secular brown sahibs are jahil, corrupt and only fill their pockets, the same way many molvis and fake pirs fill their pockets, everyone claims this is how things work in Pakistan, if you disagree and try to lead a honest decent life then you will be mistreated and then hanged by these same people.

Retirement age should only be increased in cases where there is a shortage of manpower, which typically applies to countries where the population is declining. Pakistan, with a population of 250 million, has plenty of capable manpower sitting at home, doing nothing.

I keep saying for months. Qasi extension is just a diversion. Watch this

Govt to present constitutional amendments in next NA session
1726575252731.jpeg

The government has decided to present the much-anticipated constitutional amendments during the next session of the National Assembly.

Senator Irfan Siddiqui, leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in the Senate and Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, confirmed this.

After a three-hour committee meeting, Senator Siddiqui explained that a detailed briefing was provided regarding the amendments.

He added that Maulana Fazlur Rehman does not fundamentally disagree with the amendments but has requested more time and assurances regarding the numbers.

Irfan says there is no issue with the number game, as the required votes are already in place.

Irfan noted that both houses of parliament are expected to adjourn indefinitely later today.

The new session will introduce the constitutional amendments once consensus is reached within the committee.

Irfan also commented on the role of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in the process, stating that PTI members lack the authority to provide guarantees. This highlights the internal challenges the party faces. He added that the government understands the constraints faced by PTI.

The delay in presenting the amendments reflects the government's ongoing efforts to ensure consensus among political leaders before proceeding with the legislative process.

Deadlock delays constitutional bill

In a continuing political standoff, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)-led ruling coalition and the Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman remained at an impasse over the proposed constitutional package on Sunday.

Both the National Assembly and Senate, which were urgently convened to pass the proposed bill, ended their sessions without progress as the political leadership couldn't agree on draft amendments in a flurry of meetings that continued throughout the day, prolonging the political stalemate and delaying any potential resolution.

After changing the timing of the federal cabinet meeting and the parliamentary sessions, efforts were made to build consensus over changes in the package at Maulana's residence and during the special committee's meetings held at Parliament House.

The special committee meetings, chaired by Khursheed Shah of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), met frequently but ended without reaching a resolution to the contentious issues, leaving the deadlock on the constitutional amendments unresolved.

The government presented the main points of the proposed amendments, but the draft was not provided to anyone. However, Information Minister Ataullah Tarar said that the draft was shared with the JUI-F leadership.

However, JUI-F spokesperson Aslam Ghauri told The Express Tribune that no draft was shared with the party and everything was discussed verbally, adding that supporting what had not been shared in writing was difficult.

The opposition, including the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), argued that it would be premature to commit to any details once the draft was made available. Following the committee meeting, PPP leader Khursheed Shah said that consultations were ongoing within the committee.

Khursheed Shah explained that the draft of the proposed constitutional amendments could not be released until it was approved by the federal cabinet—a prerequisite for passing the constitutional amendment bills before they passed through parliament.

Sources said that the deadlock persisted on the extension of the chief justice of Pakistan and the establishment of the constitutional courts.

They said that the JUI-F had so far been opposing any extension and raised several questions.

They make up a very small percentage of the population, overall the majority of the population are jahil, that's all I'm saying. Even the 'elite' and judges etc are misinformed and follow delusional molvis.
