While a bit too alarmist -
The US is in the middle of more than a few “crises”
The election first
With its divisive atmosphere and general lack of decisions that both the incumbent setup and candidate like to portray
Then there is a large port worker strike that could cause a huge hit to an already slowing economy which could cause shortages and inflation impact on common imports that could drive a lot of issues
Add to this oil crisis that might arise due to this… the US has no interest in escalation but it also has all the compulsion internally through both state, military and legislative branches to intervene
The war has now escalated dramatically and if the US-Israel don't stop at this point and attack Iran's oil and nuclear facilities then all bets are off. Iran his threatened to hit Israel again and again, hit US bases if they are involved, and take out Middle Eastern oil fields.
If the above happens then the world economy will collapse. North America will not go unscathed. We've seen what happened during the Covid pandemic. Everything closed and hard to buy food. It can get worse than the pandemic.
We’re in unchartered territory now.
