Here in the UK, on Channel 4 News, one of the presenters suggested that Israel is now changing tactics to not go for the frontal assault as that is proving to be difficult, but to prepare a new invasion force that will go around Hezb fortifications by essentially invading Syria via the Golan Heights into Syria mainand then launching an attack from there into Lebanon...

Would make it even bloodier in the long run Syrian military is backed by 10s of thousands of paramilitary forces from around the world not saying it is t true but if the Israelis are delusional in doing this this over the top blatant move to drag America directly into this war they are basically asking for those troops in Syria to fight for their lives they will be attacked and perhaps that is the Israelis true agenda not to attack hezbollah from Syria but to drag other parties into war they can’t accomplish themselves

The Biden administration sent a letter to the Israeli government demanding it act to improve the humanitarian situation in Gaza within the next 30 days or risk violating US laws governing foreign military assistance, suggesting US military aid could be in jeopardy.

The Sunday letter, jointly written by US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, is addressed to Israeli Minister of Defense Yoav Gallant and Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer. It marks a significant new step by the US to try to compel Israel to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid into Gaza.

They write that the US has deep concerns about the situation and ask for “urgent and sustained actions by your government this month to reverse this trajectory.”

Since this Spring, the amount of aid delivered to Gaza has dropped more than 50% and the quantity delivered in September “was the lowest of any month during the past year,” they added.

The deadline falls after the US presidential election on November 5. ???

The US “opposes” Israel’s bombing campaign in the capital, largely due to the civilian toll, a State Department spokesperson said Tuesday.

• Meanwhile, initial components and military personnel for the advanced air defense system the US is providing to Israel arrived in the country Monday, the Pentagon said, and more will be sent in the coming days.

Agreed. It might as well be Netanyahu sitting in the White House instead of this racist, lifelong self-proclaimed Zionist with a long history of warmongering in the US Congress and also now as the President.
I doubt this is for electioneering though--too late for that. Even the Latinos and the Black voters have moved to the Republicans significantly. Optimistically speaking: A subtle warning to Netanyahu not to escalate. Pessimistically speaking: Americans just trying to cover their butts over some ICJ/ICC rulings.

The United States has warned Israel of consequences within 30 days if it does not allow more humanitarian aid into Gaza, the State Department said on Tuesday.

Matthew Miller, the State Department spokesman, said the U.S. warning was made in a letter sent on Sunday to Israel’s minister of defense, Yoav Gallant, and its minister of strategic affairs, Ron Dermer, that was signed by Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin III and Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken.

The warning came after weeks of alerts from U.S. and U.N. officials that conditions were deteriorating further in Gaza, particularly in the territory’s north, amid increasing Israeli restrictions on the delivery of international aid.
