it should be obvious by now. No followers of any political party really support the Army now. They fear the army, but support? hardly.

The military becomes a demon if not under the civil leadership. Even if a tiny island state in the Pacific has a military without the civilian over it, it will become a demon too....

The Generals are even more corrupt than the Politicians and people, still this does
not mean they should interfere in politics.
They should go and do their jobs, which they have failed miserably at.

I disagree. We are all corrupt on a same level. It's just that our generals got more chances to do it.
9 times out of 10 a govt official is a corrupt and lazy bastard.

This dos not mean they should interfere with the Judiciary or politics.
They should do their job, which is to fight wars against India.
When you tell them to fight wars, then they start shaking and sweating.

When Pakistan was created there were so many problems that the Fathers of the Nation neglected the biggest danger the state faced. It was the British Indian Army.
This was the army created by the British to crush Muslim rule of centuries and to rule over 350 million Indians. They recruited from areas that were most loyal to the British and a disproportionate percentage of the army was recruited from areas belonging to today's Pakistan.
Pakistan inherited a major chunk of the British Indian Army. In India they were able to control their part but in Pakistan the British Indian Army took over. They killed off the Founding Fathers and have been ruling ever since.
The British were so good at instilling loyalty that 77 years after they left this army still has a crazed level of loyalty to the white man. It also explains their love for whiskey and golf and retiring with their wealth to the West.

Besides that, the whole elite class before the partition were also British lackeys and they continue to dominate the political/economic landscape as the backup to the colonial sepoys...
There's no hope for Pakistan without a bloody revolution...as neither jamedars nor the angrez kay pithu ashrafia will yield their entrenched power under some protest or dharna...

I was fortunate enough to meet Gen. Hameed Gul once when he was living a retired life. At that time I used to think that the army would solve Pakistan's problems. I was shocked at how negative he was about the army's role in the country.
