Modern Airbases as impossible to take out - look at Ukraine. Iran would do well to not waste time trying to destroy airbases as it cannot. We have seen that.

Really issue i see is Iraqi airspace, find ways to use it as buffer and you complicate the matters for IDF/AF long before there launch points in future conflict

Start BARCAPs over Iraqi airspace since they could not stop IDF/AF or US why would they have issue with IRIAF. Now we know the rough launch points make those area contested.

If the Iranians could install SAM launchers in Syria or Iraq that were data-linked to their radars and long range sensors in Iran, that would immensely complicate ingress routes for potential Israeli air strike packages. But the Iranians would have a tough job keeping those secret. Mobile SAM launchers routinely moved to random locations could help. The aim here would be to create a wide distributed network of SAM launchers, far aways from long range sensors located in Iran.

You need the whole infrastructure to allow this to happen.

Just landing on a highway is simply not enough.

Maintence, refuelling, reloading is another whole ballgame.
