The thing is, is it even prudent to respond? Elections are 3 weeks away any instability will not be good. Plus, Baluchistan's entire economy is dependent on smuggling from Iran. One thing for sure is, Iran has probably blown away any trust the establishment had placed on it. Which really is idiotic considering Pakistan is the only country in the immediate region that they had a somewhat functional relationship with.

It is now more prudent than ever before.

If Pakistan does not respond, it will basically set a precedent for Iran to do it again in the future.

Even more so since elections are coming up. Pakistan has to show it is in control of its borders and the security of its children, otherwise elections are meaningless because no matter how comes to power the same thing will keep happening.

Have been an admirer of Iran but if a missile has been launched into Pakistan resulting I. Children losing their lives - it’s an absolute serious provocation and that’s where I draw a line.
