pakistan didnt call j10 as f10 as far as i know! What will Pakistan call its J-35A?
Historically, PAF has replaced the J to F. For example, J-6, J-7 etc became F-6, F-7 as the j in Chinese stands for fighter. Following this trend, J-35A should ideally become F-35A - the name of the premium US stealth fighter.
Will Pakistan stick to J-35A as well so as not to cause confusion?

Wow, this number is more than I expectedlatest news i come to know that PAF is targeting 40 +14 J35A as an initial order, in parallel to J10CP induction in small batches that will continue every year
Did you get a timeframe aswell?latest news i come to know that PAF is targeting 40 +14 J35A as an initial order, in parallel to J10CP induction in small batches that will continue every year

what i know and please reconfirm later, 40 order with possible option of 14what this 40+14?
why not 54?
Please inform
The engines on the current jf17 are only rated for half the life of the airframe, so they do need to be re-engined with new engines. Logically ws19 makes the most sense from a cost control perspective given simplified logistics and support infrastructure required to support one engine type across the Jf17, and jf35a fleet.
Timing and availability of the ws19 relationship is the most difficult issues to pull off plan, let’s see what happens.

yes i agree, currently this is what i come to know from my sources. PAF plan to have initial 3 squadrons starting with two. Hence numbers. This could change as threat perception changes. I have not revealed my sources in last 18 years and will not do so. This is same as PAF ordered 20 J10C plus 16 or 25 J10C plus 11.Dear I'm not arguing about the confirmation or the specific number. I was confused by the 40+14 presentation. In the case of Pakistan-China relations, I don't think they're like U.S. relations, where we need to agree on future purchase options in advance. Pakistan can purchase any number of J-35s from China whenever it wants and have payment options available. So, this possible option of 14 is confusing, which is why I asked.
No they won't stop giving dumb replies. KAAN is our Azm also plus Turkey is developing its own engine and one which we may go for could be EuropeanNo, Pakistan will not.
As soon as KAAN is ready to be inducted, Turkiye will start inducting F-35s.
FCS will need custom configuration for a new engine type. Which means several months of testing and recertification. In some case structural modifications such as intake or bypass may be necessary to accommodate an engine with a higher thrust rating. Worst case hydraulic lines may need to be changed to accommodate pressure differences between the two engines so you are right it's not a simple swap out unless the new type is a copy of the original with minor incremental improvements.I think it will not be a simple engine swap out.
What will take some time is rewriting vast portions of the FCS as the WS-19 is another generation more advanced than RD-93 - think much higher dry and wet thrust as a starter. Also, the airframe may not be able to handle even the dry thrust for sustained periods of time.
It won't be a simple engine change and there will need to be FCS modifications and potentially airframe material changes and so the engine may stay the same at swap out.
@dbc - Would you mind giving your thoughts here?
