Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) Rallies / Protests

There is no "old violent, dictatorial strains on their system"…

Are you kidding me? Don’t believe me a simple google search will suffice.

- Park Chunge Park Chung president of South Korea from 1962 until his assassination in 1979. Military general, Comes to power in a coup, runs a hugely suppressive (albeit economically successful) governmen. He is assassinated by his closest friend

- next president Choi Kyu-ha, is relived by a military uprising

- next president is Chun Doo-hwan, a military general and dictator. At the end of his tenure he is convicted of treason, and murdering superior officers. Sentenced to be hanged, commuted to life imprisonment.

I’m not even talking about the crackdown on human rights, the brutality and street protests during these people’s tenures.

The recent stability has come after a lot of struggle. And the fact that a sitting presodent tries the martial law route tries it again is clear indictator that the strain remains.

You simply have to read up on South Korean history and their separation from North Korea.

Anyway by now this is OT and my last post on the subject here.

This is where yoy can hurt the Generals the hardest.

I am not denying they had problems in the past. Just saying today's events do not foreshadow the past.
