Syrian Civil War and The future of Syria after liberation

I don't think you can blame Russia solely.

RuAF went all out in the first few days and if the SAA just fought in the cities like Hamah where they had large garrisons, then it would have been different.

SAA infantry and RuAF would have won a decisive victory and stopped the rebels at Hamah. Aleppo was lost at that point.

Russia simply could not believe that the SAA would fold like that and just run away. They obviously got frustrated and realised within the first week that this was a losing cause. Russia alone cannot fight for Syria if SAA was not prepared to do its part on the ground.

As for Armenia, I found that really strange that Russia would abandon the Armenians like that. It seems that they wanted to focus on Ukraine and probably Syria/ME as well.

Russia has lost a lot of its strength over the last 3 years in Ukraine and poor Armenia was sacrificed first it seems.
The Russians could have done a lot since 2015-2016. A lot more. They could have helped restructure the SAA and give more equipment and AA protection.

I thought the Iraqis would go in these days, but they didn't either. The Iranians too far,the Lebanese too weak now.

We have never sold weapons or weapons-making materials. Our trade with Israel is at a standstill. We don't sell anything important.

So why did you support Christian Armenians instead of your Muslim Azeri brothers?

Once Azerbaijan stops selling oil that is being used to massacre Gazans and Lebanese then I will think about supporting Azerbaijan.

Also I have little respect for ANY Muslim country that has diplomatic, economic and military relations with the usurper of Palestine.

Al-Quds is the 3rd holiest city in Islam and currently Zionist Jews occupy and desecrate it at will.

PS - I don't really support Armenia but was commenting on how Russia abandoned them.

You say you are enemies of the Zionist entity?

Ok.

Then why at this very moment are you supplying oil that is being put into Zionist planes and armoured vehicles to slaughter Palestinian women and children in Gaza?

You claim to be against evil tyrants but you are actively helping a genocidal occupier massacre Gazans. Two of their terrorist leaders(Netanyahu and Gallant) have ICC arrest warrants against them?

PS - Don't come back with "international agreements" and "Azeri oil" as it needs to pass through Turkey and you can stop the flow any time.

Turkey seems to be very schizophrenic: one day they want to be leader of the Muslim world, the next day they want to be member of European Union.

There was no battlefield for Syria. The SAA surrendered in mass. This is why Russia stopped their support operations in Syria.
Nobody can help a country who is not willing to defend itself.
The main difference is that Russia only needs Syria's coastline, they don't care about the rest, Iran wanted a corridor but they didn't want to protect it so their sphere is getting dismantled after this failure.
I wonder if they will create an "Alawite State" on the Syrian coastline with Assad and Russian support there. You know, like it was supposed to become 100 years ago or so.

What baffles me is that Bashar hasn't made any public announcements the last few days. Nothing. You would expect someone to go on TV and explain to the people what is going on.

But one thing is clear now:

This Russia, the current Russia, cannot be trusted as an ally. It's one of the least dependable allies to have. After their treatment of Armenia, which even though they wanted to give a lessons to Armenians for their choice of that clown Pashinyan,it is still unacceptable that they not only let Azeris march so far,but they also gave them most of Artsakh in the deal.

Then Syria. When Lavrov says "Moscow calls for dialogue between the government and the legitimate opposition" or "sorry we can't help you right now",you know you don't have a dependable ally.

The current Russia has lost all credit as a superpower that protects and helps its allies.
What do you expect tho?

Russia is fighting 3 wars before this. 1 in Ukraine, 1 for Iran and 1 for Africa, they stretch as thin as they could and almost 3 years of wars they have trouble putting tank in Ukraine, don't even need to think about trying to help Assad

On the other hand, Assad was never in that position if it wasn't for Iran and Russia, and both now being pre-occupied by something else. What do you really expect?

This is probably just the beginning, if those group in Africa (Mali, Niger and so on) is smart, they know it's time to strike......

Saudis wont like fall of Assad they are weak paranoid rulers and they will fear their people will rise up against them

Doubt it.

If there is one thing you can guarantee in the Middle East, it is that every dictator is more brutal to his own people than anyone would have expected.

Sadly, in that respect, Pakistan is also truly part of the Middle East.

The groups in Mali seem to be taking advantage of the situation for the last few months now. JNIM will probably follow HTS and Taliban and focus on winning minds and hearts as well. Their popularity is already significantly growing.
I think the next major loss for Russian will be in Mali at the hands of JNIM.
