This was before the largely catastrophic and pointless Russian adventure into Ukraine. They turned arguably the most pro-Russian European country (closely related to Russia in terms of everything - culture, religion, language, mentality, history) after Belarus, into a hotbed of anti-Russian sentiments. Al-Assad has hurt Syria more than any Israeli or outsider (enemy) could ever hope for. It was under the useless and incompetent illegitimate Al-Assad regime that Syria lost land (for the first time in their modern history) to an outsider, no other than Israel. Lost all wars against Israel and betrayed their fellow Arab armies as well. Never responded to 1000's of Israeli attacks on Syria.

You must live in some alternative universe to claim that there is a genuine "anti-West" resistance in the Muslim world.

You know who the only genuine anti-Westerners were? OBL (a rich billionaire) and the only ones that actually harmed the US greatly (9/11) although it was a suicidal mission, in many ways anti-Islamic (due to the civilian lives lost and them committing suicide in the process), but rightly and paradoxically most Muslims disagreed with AQ due to their extreme positions on the West and Israel.

War anywhere on the planet is not good. Neither for Muslims. Many Muslim countries, especially poor ones, relied on Ukrainian grain and as a consequence have suffered economically due to that conflict.

I don't think that the US will collapse anytime soon. Not when the brightest Muslim minds keep migrating to the US and helping them keep their status quo as a hegemon. Let alone from everywhere else.

In fact if the US had a more sensible foreign policy in the Muslim world, stopped being loyal to Israel before its own people, they might have been able to play a more constructive role. But have no doubts, Russia is not better, in many ways worse, and the Chinese have yet to do anything for the Muslim world. In fact nobody expects them to do so.

The average American is mostly good like anywhere else. It is just that humans (especially people of power) are power hungry and will do everything for money, status, power etc. even harming millions of fellow humans.

I don't think that Erdogan and Turkey are interested in absorbing even more Kurds into Turkey or any Syrian territory. I also don't think that they are interested in even more Arabs (mostly Syrians). Don't they have 5-6 million Syrian refugees already? In fact I believe that they should and will deport/help Syrians in Turkey return home to Syria and help rebuilt their country. Which makes perfect sense.

The likes of Russia and Iran, after murdering Syrians, have zero obligations. They left as they came. Can't say the same thing about Turkey who is next door to Syria.

Same problem KSA faces with Iraq, Sudan, Egypt (if something happens there), Yemen and all other neighboring countries. Same thing Iraq faced between 2011-14 (during the rise of ISIS) as a consequence of the Syrian civil war. This is why they wisely today (2024) did not interfere in Syria even though I am sure that Iran pressured them to do so in case of trying to keep the Al-Assad regime alive.
