How do you know your speculative NGAD will be more advanced than J-36?

The Navy has recently reiterated its commitment to its sixth-generation F/A-XX program while the Air Force's NGAD program is now hanging in the balance. The Air Force was supposed to select a contractor for the NGAD fighter in 2024, but it has failed to do so. It is believed that Lockheed Martin and Boeing are bidding for the contract (Northrop Grumman bowed out but has indicated it may reenter).

And obviously you can't distinguish between demonstrator with prototype.
Lockheed and Boeing have no prototype yet, thats why till now you can't show any of NGAD prototype.

US has not tested ingredient for 6th generation fighter yet, such as: RDE (rotating detonation engine), quantum radar, quantum IRST, metamaterial, while China has already.
