Don't get too attached to the Sunni-Shia crap. It's more of a political tool these days than anything.

Russia kept a very tight rope.
It only aided Zion get stronger in the region. Totally destroyed any semblance of sovereignty before letting Assad fly back to Mother Russia.
In fact, this Russian stance made the stay of every other group or ally of Assad an even costly and deadlier venture. Where Russia wasn't in fact an ally!
Had no qualms about killing Syrians, destroying its infrastructure and kneecapping the state before it collapsed.
Which is why when Syrian military starting melting away Erdogan only had to call Putin and the deed was done.
Again, the state was a shell of itself and NO ONE either knew nor predicted such precipitous collapse. Ones who say be lying!
This, and Assad in fact gaming each and everyone(cozying up with GCC, providing intel to zion... etc), ended up estranging everyone.

At the end of the day, Russia salvaged itself while wrecking Syria on behalf of zion!

I suspect that Russia and Israel have a quiet agreement along the lines of "Israel will not do anything that endangers Russian forces or that might topple Assad and Russia won't interfere with Israel strikes in Hezbollah or Iranian assets in Syria. For starter, Russia is too far away to cause any real damage to Israel. Israel on the other hand is the only US ally that has not participated in anti Russia sanctions despite enormous pressure thanks to it's very sizeable pro Russia expat minority. Russia is not the Soviet Union it doesn't have as much political power as you guys think. Militarily Russian airforce presence in the middle east is pale in comparison to Israel.theres nothing they can really do to Israel tbh.

The US knew where he was, but they had to confirm first, the government through various training scenarios, then making plans, and finally start operation geronimo...even then, they weren't even sure it would work.

With Jolani, he was heavily protected, and had multiple bunkers and escape routes. He never stayed in one place for too long, and has escaped multiple drone and air strikes againsr him. It wasn't even until recently that anyone knew what he even looked like, because he kept his face hidden.

Syria has now a new Army. It is not difficult to put in place a military presence in the path of these forces to stop them expanding and force Israel to stop. They do not need to attack, simply be in the way of further expansion. Right now they have a clear uncontested road all the way to Damascus.
