Not accepting a mass deportation of Palestinians is one thing--probably too much to swallow. But totally cutting off the Palestinians in Gaza and West Bank to make them resign as a vanquished nation is another.

But the regional countries have only bought short term peace. I believe the countries close to Israel have not really absorbed that Israel is a colonial dagger in their hearts and such countries will always be at the mercy of remote powers' terms for trade and exploration rights and if they deviate from the script then they will have 'freedom and democracy' coming their way, starting with decapitation strikes. And the so-called Global South led by China/Russia are going to play closer to their home turf--not in the Middle East, unless maybe there is no bone thrown toward them over Ukraine or Taiwan and Iran is directly attacked.

Also, it is always good to keep an open mind about our understanding of the world. Before this conflict started in October 2023, I had bought too much of the Mearsheimer 2006 theory that it is the Israeli Lobby almost totally dictating American policies in the Middle East. While that maybe the most important factor but now I believe there are indeed vital American interests in the Middle East where Israel provides role of an 'attack dog' at the expense of the regional countries and the Palestinians. So my own understanding has evolved based on the new knowledge acquired since October 2023. Trump has recently even said that something like 'America is the biggest producer of natural resources and he is going to ensure that Europe buys from America!' What can the Middle East countries do if he forces them to direct their own natural resources exports to fit the American interests? Will they face the attack dog in their backyard??

Anyway, regardless of whether I am right or wrong in my understanding, Palestinians are tragically cooked in my lifetime--I am in my 50s.

A few observations and a bit of speculation...
First Zion is a project for a Semitic homeland. In this case a European definition, implication and projection of the word, people and its definition. Harking on guilt tripping the collective west on their centuries of pogroms, second class citizenship and racial stereotyping. They milked it to the last drop and now it is facing death. It needs resuscitation... new plot... which will unfold in multiple ways... anti Semitic tropes, victimization, perhaps vandalism... framing white nationalists with Muslims peppered in for good measure. Upping the ante on fear among jews in the west and the specter of white nationalism(there has been a good deal of "semitic" investment in propping up and keeping the racial biases going on individuals, and groups). Using their investment on the orange to good measures and choreographing an image...
The purpose is the get the remaining jews to somehow head to zion!

Second, Trump does see Europe as a market and this is the retrenching phase in America. Canada, Greenland and Panama Canal are by no means a red herring nor reintroduction of The Monroe doctrine... it is fortress America! Something akin to Brzezinski's trilateral commission without Britain or Japan... but Russia and China. The failure to contain or slow China in things such as Tianamen, Tibet, Uighurs or Hong Kong. The last stand is Taiwan... with a whole lot of political and economic coercions. China kept its head down and now in many ways is either a peer or exceeds. Russia also went through it's own trial by fire... among other things pinched on both Georgia and now in Ukraine.

popcorn? cause it is about to get real interesting...

SEN Radio parts ways with cricket journalist over Palestine social media posts

SEN Radio has parted ways with prominent cricket journalist Peter Lalor halfway through Australia’s tour of Sri Lanka over his social media activity relating to Palestine.

Lalor was told on the final morning of the first Test by SEN’s chief executive Craig Hutchison that his services were no longer required.

Lalor’s X feed includes re-posts of news stories about Israeli attacks in Gaza, and about the release of Palestinian prisoners from Israeli jails.

Lalor, formerly the chief cricket writer at The Australian, was used by SEN as a commentator in Galle. He also works as a commentator for Seven and writes and podcasts for the Cricket Et Al Substack.

Lalor released a statement on Monday night in which he said he had received two calls from senior management at SEN on the third day of the Galle Test, and was informed the following morning that he could not no longer work for them.

“I was told in one call there were serious organisations making complaints; in another I was told that this was not the case,” Lalor wrote in his statement.

“Perhaps I misunderstood. I was told there were accusations I was antisemitic which I strongly objected to. I was told my retweeting was not balanced, and insensitive to one side and that many people had complained.

“I was asked by station boss Craig Hutchison, who was civil, if I didn’t care that my retweeting of events in Gaza made Jewish people in Melbourne feel unsafe. I said I didn’t want anyone to feel unsafe. Of course, I care. I have friends who are frightened and have heard the fear in their voices during conversations. It is an awful situation. But so is Gaza. It was a brief and cordial call.

“The following day Hutchinson told me that because the ‘sound of my voice made people feel unsafe’ and that people are ‘triggered by my voice’, I could not cover the cricket for them anymore.”

In a statement provided to this masthead on Monday, SEN confirmed it had parted ways with Lalor ahead of the second Test between Australia and Sri Lanka, starting on Thursday in Galle.

“Sports Entertainment Network (SEN) confirms it has parted ways with Peter Lalor, a freelance commentator within SEN’s cricket coverage,” read the statement.

SEN chief executive Craig Hutchison said: “We’ve been in dialogue through the back half of the [1st] Test [in Sri Lanka] about some of the commentary on Peter’s private social media feed. Peter and I have a different view of the impact of that in the Australian community.

“SEN Cricket is a celebration of differences and nationalities and a place where our SEN audience can escape what is an increasingly complex and sometimes triggering world.

“We respect Pete as a journalist and long-time contributor to the game but also acknowledge the fear that many families in our community feel right now, and we also need to respect that.”

SEN colleagues in Sri Lanka were informed about the decision on Sunday morning. Lalor has been contacted for comment.

If the truth makes people unsafe then let them feel unsafe.

Upon reflection, I actually agree with you. There is NOTHING these nations could have done without themselves being destroyed by the white european races. So the question now becomes about race again. What can brown/olive skinned Muslim nations do in order to stop themselves from being genocides by the white european races in the future? What sensible measures can they take?

Yes, racism is a large part of it but observe how white Christians have been engineered to kill each other in the Russia-Ukraine war in huge numbers.

I don't believe in the 30s/40s there was much Western 'guilt' about the Jews. Jews fleeing the NAZIS were turned back and they had not much refuge except in the Soviet Union. The Christian Europe was deeply anti semitic for many centuries, and Germany was not an exception and by extension America too was anti semitic and it still is to some degree. My Father in Law is a WASP and he some times jokingly says things like 'You are cheap like a Jew in a flea market' and other WASPs use terms like 'Jewing me down' over haggling for prices.
I don't want to dwell too much into the history but I believe the Israeli power over America is mostly due to smart politics, bribery, threats, media manipulation and that power was not always this much but has become like today's power especially after the Fall of the Soviet Union. And I also believe that power can be reversed just like the massive power of the KKK was reversed. Smart politics is required. Smart, not emotional one!!!

This is worse than the Holocaust. Israel set out to exterminate everyone in Gaza in such a short time frame. The destruction of this Nazi terror state is now a moral obligation upon everyone.

I agree only insofar as the reversal of kkk... but zionists know this... they're burning through all bridges far and wide for the end result. Besides there isn't much euphoria or founding inertia... coming generation runs the other way unless initiated.
So there are severe time constraints.
US will not carry zion around forever. In fact, what happened to genocide joe and orange's continued funding in support for zion is untenable and his base sees right through that...
Zion is a deer caught in the headlights. When everyone else received American funding, zion was one amongst many... when he kills the spigot and still keeps zion ON... big no no...

Everyone sees the same thing as you and I do...
They'll brow beat and coerce ... but burn right through.
