Russia seems like the victor in this conflict at a high price however.
If NATO objective was to weaken Russia so it wont be a threat conventionally for the next decade they may have achieved that.
However if their objective was to free Ukraine from Russia and to admit them into Nato they failed.
Russia holds 20% of Ukraine, minerals and natural resources worth trillions, they are grinding out more and more territory despite Nato arming and funding Ukraine Nato has failed. Ukraine won't be joining NATO will be forced to remain neutral and won't be allowed any foreign troops. It's next to surrender these terms.
