No danger to crew of An Yang 2 and no fuel spillage recorded, Sakhalin’s governor said, but authorities had to be prepared for any situation

Should China pick up providing some aid from those things lost to many countries when USAID was shutdown, to build up soft power and make new openings for economic goodwill?

Free condoms can go hand in hand with pharmaceuticals sales access to new markets for example.

She can, but she won't.

Silver standard was in force in China until KMT period, after WW2, they started printing money and caused hyperinflation. China had been a gold and silver standard economy since Qin dynasty.

Bitcoin is the biggest scam ever made. Instead of banks issuing money, a program is autogenerating itself.

Bitcoin is the biggest scam ever made. Instead of banks issuing money, a program is autogenerating itself.
The 0.1% of the population own as much as 95% of bitcoin. With bitcoin as global money, Western nations and Western individuals are going to be desperate for bitcoin. In a hyperdeflationary bitcoin economy, Western nations can't borrow bitcoin as the bitcoin principle on the loan is increasing. Low supply, high demand for money/bitcoin would produce a hyperdeflationary scenario potentially a death spiral. So no government bonds. Western nations have to balance the budget with bitcoin as money and not run government budget deficits. Western nations can't have trade deficits with bitcoin or else the bitcoin flows out of the economy from trade deficits and there is no bitcoin money for the national economy (Trump is both trying to balance the government budget and balance trade in preparation for bitcoin). When bitcoin is global Western money, nations and individuals are going to be desperate for bitcoin. So nations are going to be hyper mercantilistic, no more globalism and free trade. Trump is taking advantage of the ending era of free trade by seeking to buy Greenland, get the Panama Canal, steal Gaza and 50% of Ukrainian resources to further enrich the US before bitcoin makes nations extremely selfish.

China has to figure out a way to have a gold backed yuan that grows their gold and silver reserve holdings in China. So as I said on the old PDF, China needs a 10 year stockpile of natural resources and industrial metals to give a cushion to China to survive a bitcoin economy. Then, back on the old PDF, I was telling China in order to survive trade wars and trade blockades of the first Trump term to have a 10 year stockpile of essential natural resources. Here in 2025, it is about surviving Western nations only accepting bitcoin as payment for natural resources by about 2030, if the Trump plan succeeds. Don't let nations know how much official gold China has. And stockpile silver and platinum too. If you run out of gold, you can fall back on platinum reserves and silver reserves. Your solar panels are one such silver reserve, an industrial silver reserve that can be recycled into silver money.

It would be wise for China to work with Europe against Trump destroying/replacing the existing monetary system. And to instead, China and Europe go to gold backed currencies if Trump tries to force bitcoin as global money. China and Europe must agree to fair trade and balanced trade, so in a scenario of both China and Europe working together, both have a successful gold/silver monetary system of trade surpluses and success. To out last the bitcoin scam.

We need the global system to reject Trump and work together as much as possible to work against Trump.

Good analysis, people are suspecting that bitcoin was a Cia ops

"Tibetan loving" Indian and western government didn't give a penny to Tibetan quake victims while the central government provides billions, once again general Tibetan population witness "Tibetan lovers" hypocracy.

Acclaimed Chinese-American mathematician Huaxin Lin has returned to China for a full-time research position in Shanghai after nearly four decades in the United States.

The 69-year-old joined the newly established Shanghai Institute for Mathematics and Interdisciplinary Sciences (SIMIS) as a professor late last year, according to his faculty profile on the institute’s website. The institute, led by mathematician and geometric pioneer Shing-Tung Yau, aims to advance fundamental research in mathematics and its interdisciplinary applications.

Before his return, Lin was a full professor at the University of Oregon for 30 years. Specialising in operator algebras, he has played a key role in solving long-standing problems in C*-algebra theory, an abstract branch of mathematics that underpins quantum mechanics and other advanced areas of physics and maths.

His work provided a systematic framework for classifying infinite-dimensional mathematical structures, advancing both pure mathematics and applications in quantum theory and functional analysis.

“I’ve always dreamed of working full-time in Shanghai. SIMIS just provided a rare opportunity,” Lin said.

According to the academic, his focus is on training students at SIMIS and Fudan University. This semester, he will teach the undergraduate honours course, Real Analysis, at Fudan. He is also working on research related to operator algebras at SIMIS.

Lin’s path to mathematics was somewhat accidental but driven by curiosity, according to a 2003 interview with his alma mater, East China Normal University. During the Cultural Revolution, when books were scarce, he came across a maths book and was excited to solve some of its problems.

World’s highest bridge that only took three years to build is set to open in China this June

The Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge dwarfs the Empire State Building and is nine times taller than San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge

Although it might seem like it takes your local council a decade to fill a few pot holes in, things are a lot speedier in other corners of the world.

Take China, for example, where the world's highest bridge has been erected in just three years. Now that's some serious efficiency.

Although larger and more complex projects like this are often a labour of love rather than a quick process, the East Asian nation hasn't hung about when it comes to the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge.

Standing a whopping 625 metres above the Beipan River, the suspension bridge in the Guizhou province will be the highest bridge on the planet.

That's nearly 200 metres taller than the Empire State Building and nine times bigger than San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge - so if you aren't a fan of heights, you'll want to avoid this one.

But locals will be lapping it up when it eventually opens later this year, as it is set to shorten their travel time across the gorge from over an hour to just a few minutes.

The Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge will connect the areas of Liuzhi and Anlong in the Guizhou province via a motorway, but it's also quite the work of art too.

It is hoped that the bridge, which stretches between two mountain tops and is under two miles in length, will breathe new life into the district and attract tourists.

There are plans to set up facilities for extreme sports at the bottom of the canyon when the project is finished, so it sounds like it really will be the hot new place to be very soon.

Deputy director of the Guizhou Transport Department, Chen Jianlei, said: "The completion of the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge will strengthen economic ties between Guiyang, Anshun and Qianxinan, fostering regional economic integration."

So, that 22,000 ton overpass could be revolutionary for the rural region, if all goes to plan.

Politician Zhang Shenglin, seemed to agree, as he also explained the upcoming unveiling of the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge is also a chance to show off China's talents.

"This super project spanning the 'Earth's crack' will showcase China's engineering capabilities and boost Guizhou's goal of becoming a world-class tourist destination," he said.

"Its steel trusses weigh about 22,000 metric tons - the equivalent of three Eiffel Towers - and were installed in just two months."

Cough, cough, humble brag. But hey, who can blame him?

Dizzying footage from above the bridge has been circulating on social media, showing the crews sorting out the finishing touches.

But the most impressive aspect of the ambitious creation is how quickly the construction process has been, as workers first picked up tools in 2022.

It's set to be ready for use in June this year - and I think we can all agree that completing an engineering masterpiece in just three years is a seriously impressive feat.

The Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge is reported to have cost a hefty £216 million, so let's hope China does enjoy the boost in tourism it is hoping for.

Li Zhao, chief engineer of the project, said: "Witnessing my work becomes something tangible - watching the bridge grow day by day and finally stand tall above the canyon - gives me a profound sense of achievement and pride."

We can't wait to see it, lad. Roll on June!

China Building World's Highest Bridge, Will Cut Travel Time From 1 Hour To 1 Minute

China Building World's Highest Bridge, Will Cut Travel Time From 1 Hour To 1 Minute

The bridge was prepared at a cost of Rs 2200 crore, surpassing the Eiffel Tower in height.

China is set to open the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge in June, a record-breaking structure spanning two miles across a massive canyon, according to The Metro. The 216 million pounds (Rs 2200 Crore) project will reduce travel time from one hour to just one minute. Towering over 200 meters higher than the Eiffel Tower and weighing three times more, the bridge represents a significant engineering feat.

Chinese politician Zhang Shenglin said, "This super project spanning the "Earth's crack" will showcase China's engineering capabilities and boost Guizhou's goal of becoming a world-class tourist destination."

'Its steel trusses weigh about 22,000 metric tonnes - the equivalent of three Eiffel Towers - and were installed in just two months.'

Chief Engineer Li Zhao said, "Witnessing my work become something tangible - watching the bridge grow day by day and finally stand tall above the canyon - gives me a profound sense of achievement and pride."

Other than providing vital transportation links in a more rural area of China, the new bridge will also be a major tourist attraction.

According to The Metro, plans for living areas, a glass walkway and the 'highest bungee jump' in the world have also been unveiled by planners.

The bridge is more impressive given it's almost completely suspended above the major gorge below.

The region of China where this bridge is being built is home to almost half of the world's 100 tallest bridges to help connect rural communities.

In 2016, China's highest bridge was built in Beipanjiang, measuring in at an astounding 1,854 feet tall.

Many can't believe that such an engineering marvel only took 3 years to be created.
