Attack on Jaffer Express

Rana Sanullah mentioned the government and Interior ministry is not presense in Balochistan whilst DGISPR claims the security is under the control of the local government. Najim Sethi claims Balochistan and it's security is under the control of the establishment, ISI, FC. Someone in charge made major blunders but as usual not accepting it. Now want the country to unite and use force. If BLA can operate from Afghanistan, cross the border and attack deep inside Pakistan then why cant our intelligence agencies do the same. Locate all leadership, camps and assassinate them, no need to make announcements, just do the job. No need to invade Afghanistan or use airstrikes which will kill innocent people and make Afghanistan in to an enemy state.

You make very valid points. The reason why the Pakistani intelligence cannot do anything is because one American phone call changes all their plans. These people are helpless.

This discussion will be forgotten in a few days. No one will remember that this incident happened because something new would have happened.

It is good to see people getting angry and emotional for a few days.

EDITORIAL: The chilling ambush of the Jaffar Express on Tuesday by terrorists is a rude wake-up call, reminding us of the state’s shrinking writ in Balochistan.

Late Wednesday evening, the military confirmed the counterterrorism operation was over. But the fact that BLA terrorists were able to waylay and hijack the train carrying hundreds of passengers, as well as security men, in a desolate region is terrifying. Passengers have recounted distressing accounts about how they survived the traumatic experience.

This is not the first time this particular train has been singled out; the suicide bombing last year at Quetta railway station also targeted the Jaffar Express. The fact is that in Balochistan freedom of movement has been greatly curtailed, with militants able to hijack trains and block highways.

As the Baloch leaders keep stressing, this conflict has a political and economic component. Only the government and military leaders keep hallucinating about a security solution.

The incompetence and lack of drive I. This governance is being highlighted this week. Taking ownership by a leadership that is hell bent on focusing on the opposition rather than actual hard core governance.
Focusing on self survival and importance.
Focusing on what to eat for iftari - even when not fasting - yet this core issue is an afterthought……

Iran-Afghanistan-India all three are behind this. Pakistan’s incompetence and cowardice has allowed small countries like Afghanistan and Iran bully nuclear power Pakistan.
Balochistan has legitimate concerns and government needs to focus on developing Balochistan, but the foreign element shouldn’t be overlooked. Even if Pakistan fully develops Balochistan its enemies will find new proxies and new narratives to spread terrorism with in Pakistan. A critical component in the solution to terrorism is making it very costly to find terrorism in Pakistan. Such an attack would have been considered an act of war in other countries. Pakistan is a nuclear power ffs if its neighbours want war let them understand they will also cease to exist in any future war.
Those who want to use terror are emboldened by attacks like the Iranian attack in 2024. That attack did not receive the proper response. It was also an opportunity but the foolish leadership let it slip in favor of frandship.

Ironic to see many contributors hatred of Asim Muneer and Pak Army. Sadly these guys who had been beneficiaries of establishment misdeeds of past have just realised that establishment is doing BS while at same time they may be still enjoying the perks n privileges of the Past establishment misdeeds.
I just remind these "nouveau democrates" that democracy doesn't mean freedom to abuse and promoting filth. Restrain their hatred and chain their love for establishment created and planted "playboy". Shun the perks n privilege before cursing the very mother that feeds you PAKISTAN.

i think you have reading and comprehension issues. no one here is cursing pakistan, not even the indians.

Didn't Sethi say they are also coming from Iran?

So that's two troubling borders

To what extent are USA and co involved, given Iranian border

Taking this into acc6Pakistan actually needs help here, Chinese satellites will be useful

Be realistic

I am sorry but not agreed.

Most people want better lives, and you can't generalize an entire community. Only a small minority are lazy and expect everything to come easily and they are in every society and community.

It's the government's responsibility to educate people. They must facilitate and promote education, making sure communities understand its benefits. In today's world, education is essential for a better life.

The claim that Baloch people don't want education is false propaganda.
That small minority can create problems easily. It happens mostly in tribal areas. They Often destroy schools as well.

Seeing that no political party has actively been consoling victims or visiting the area to see the situation for themselves- but rather perpetuating divisive hatred of other parties and taking advantage of this horrible incident- it seems that attacks like this are virtually just "business as usual" for the nation.

The BLA will attack and the army will respond in turn, in an everlasting game of whackamole

The one thing I find funny is that this could also be a counter insurgency masterstroke. usually these wars fail and capitulate to the demands of the insurgency due to the moral and domestic qualms of the state that is mounting counter insurgency.
The Pakistan state apparatus seems to have no moral quandaries with funnelling endless man and mass into Balochistan to play these games until the BLA simply run out of serious manpower
