Sunni Arabs never really had power after the Abbasids. Infact abassids were in decline and only regional /ceremonial. By then the Seljuks Turks, Fatimid Berbers, almohad berbers, then the ayubids, almoravids, khwarazemin empire, ghurid empires likhanate, Safavids, ottomans, deli hi sultanate, Bengal sultanate none this great Muslim states who carried the banner of Islam were Arabs.

Rightly said, when people make fun of PGCC or other Arab entities kissing Western/jew (or USSR in past by baathists) azz they often forget the Arab history post in last 1100 years. Iranic plateau, Anatolia, Levant were lost in 8th-10th century by Abbasids. Hejaz itself went under Kipchak Cuman Turk control. Iranians forget not too long ago Iranian Ghizilbash Torks and Ottomans used to fight wars on Arab lands for who is going to control/colonise them and collect taxes. When you live in this mentality for dozens of generation after generation, you won't care which foreigner is exploiting the land as long as the ruling elite is rich. Their younger monarch leadership is showing signs of independence though finally.
 
Sunni Islam doesn't have moderate version of political Islam,
Their political Isalm is base on invasion and mark all others as Kuffir .... and this kind of political Islam can not work in current age .

And Arab were nothing before Islam , and after They lost succession wars against Iranian in Abbasid-Ummayad war , they lost everything .... ( that why they have profound hatred toward Iranians )

Without Islam , they are just second rate player in region
