Ambassador Chas Freeman, who I rank as the No. 1 resource on geopolitics and that's not an easy credit to give as there are several more highly competent ones out there but Mr. Freeman is exceptionally knowledgeable, objective and with the right moral compass.
Starting this part of the video, the discussion is about the war against Iran. A few take a ways:
1) Trump personally doesn't want a war but he has surrounded himself with those who want that war, so the American policies in the Middle East are not 'America First' but 'Israel First'.
2) Israel is militarily on the ascendant but that doesn't necessarily translates into 'longevity'. He describes how badly Israel is bruised in the last 15+ months.
3) He gave a firm 'No' as answer to if the Arab nations are going to support an attack on Iran. Per him, the understanding between the Arab nations and America was that ultimately American would put some reigns over Israel--and indeed that happened EVEN under the Biden administration, although to much lesser degree than pre Biden POTUS did. But now, Israel has Trump totally in on their side and that makes it unacceptable to the Arab nations.
A must watch 25 minutes!
