Bottom line is we have lots of options with respect to fighter platforms (off the shelve or locally produced) and it all depends on the budget. If the economy takes off we would probably invest more in R&D. Right now whatever we have with limited budget is obviously working. Arming the JF-17 Block IIIs with PL-15 is very smart. Kudos to PAC and CATIC and other relevant departments who made it happen. You raise a good point. I haven't seen a a latest photo of Block I in a while. I wonder if they have been upgraded to Block II standards.Im not sure we have any JF17 Block 1s left, have they not all been upgraded to block 2s now
And those 112 or so JF17s still have utility, the PGs are going and the Mirages are following and for day to day work those JF17 block 2s should take the burden
Im sure PAF have a plan in mind, I'm just not sure what it is
It seems, they wanted (prior to this emergency)
Cap the J10s
Slow induction of J17 Block 3s slowly replacing older planes
Wait for J35 to come in the next few years
Wait for KAAN over the next 10 years or so
And go onto the PFX program so homegrown efforts continue
Personally, I think another order of J10s is necessary and we need to increase J10 numbers to a solid 50, whilst we slowly induction J17 block 3s both with PL15 and PL10s
Unless J35 is coming in the next 2 years, we can't risk not having more bite
the second para is a big deal, real time intel and Beidu system integration, i wonder what indians are thinking right now ?The Pak Chief is a man of his words. He is dead set on "we will not think to retaliate, but retaliate with humongous rock for a tiny stone"! It's a matter of great concern for the Bharati side....
China is providing real time satellite and othet assests based intel to Pak. Moreover, the Beidu system is being used by the Pak side for the military ops.....
Why should anyone believe India’s absurd accusations?Just to put things into perspective seen as india wanted this to be major news akin to October 7th:
The felling of a famous tree by 2 men in England, called the Sycamore Gap Tree, has made more headline news this week than the indian red flag operation.

India / Pakistan nowhere...
Rehn day bhai, another f@ujeet delusion per Bajwa doctrine...There is no Indian ( even Indian Muslims ) or Indian party who is a well wisher of Pakistan and opposite is also true. You are delusional if you think Indian Muslims loves Pakistan listen to Asahad-ud-din owaisi . Indian Muslims have relations with Muhajirs of Pakistan. Now you can connect the dots.
Secular parties hate Pakistan even more than BJP.
Since you Indians are somewhat absent minded, let me jog your memory...Not really ! it just shows he is not ready for a sustained war !
And he needs the panic of nuclear escalation before PA end up losing territory.
Most of your politicians crying nuclear this nuclear that is proving this point.
Easier said than done.Top priority should be to rebase our nominal GDP so we can reflect the true size of our economy—which, factoring in our vast undocumented and informal sectors, could be close to $1 trillion. Without this, our debt-to-GDP ratios, credit ratings, and global financial standing remain artificially suppressed. Defense upgrades like the JF-17 Block 3 are important, but they must be built on a foundation of accurate economic representation and fiscal credibility.
