My take on this - regardless of whether this was officially due to a driving accident or a hostile ambush, the conclusion is now self evident that separatist/independence armed groups are actually emboldened to engage the Indian security forces more because of:

(a) massive disorderly mobilisation creating more opportunities for ambush,

(b) the inability of India to launch their planned cross border attack on Pakistan quickly, creating a perception of vulnerability for the occupying regime,

(c) the apparent ability of 4 heavily armed individuals to melt away and escape.

One would now expect a number of such reports of "accidents" befalling the Indian security forces to emerge in the days and weeks to come.

I'm still not able to get my head around why anyone would use the phrase: "full with laxity" in any serious discourse.

I think Pakistan has an advantage in any small skirmish i.e. less than 2 weeks of heavy combat.
Eg. Balakot and all LOC violations.
Even if India manages to win in the combat front, Pakistan will claim victor as india failed to make it surrender like in 1971.

India has a massive advantage in any high intensity war that lasts more than a month.
Eg. 1965, 1971, siachen and Kargil war.

It seems India will increase the cost of assymetric for Pakistan in every possible way including military kinetic actions.
