One would like to think that the airframes themselves can be resold back to china given they operate so many of them ?

for what- pennies.

Really, at some point for lower cost airframes, the turbines become an increasingly larger % of the overall airframe value- if the turbines need overhaul, or are nearing the end of life (probably) or were damaged (quite easy to do!)- then alot of the time these low demand airframes end up worthless and the cost of overhaul/new turbines makes it not worth it

idk myself. I think there is a link 16, and then 17 (of Pak). Link 16 can communicate with the command centre, and it gets relayed to Chinese platforms etc, or perhaps directly. It was explained in the last forum by @Signalian.
Anyway, not an expert, but there was some conversion thing in between.

Otherwise there is no logic to send "Patrolling Package" with "air to ground 200km range weapons" near the border.

There's a thin no-fly zone on both sides of the border to avoid any surprises or mistakes. Whenever tensions are high, both sides play this half game of chicken; fly directly towards the border, into the no-fly zone, sending the other side into high alert, at times to gauge the response and at times just to mess around.

Link-17 has given the PAF a network protocol that it can use with a wide range of aerial assets, such as the JF-17 Thunder.

JF-17 at least can communicate with Sabb Ereiye. In fact, it can launch missile which can be guided by the Ereiye!
So, Pak-China platforms can communicate with the Western system, but through Link 17 at least.
Edit: Not guided but lock after launch capability.
