We will know in next few days what has really happened in the last few hours. But even if half of the Pakistani claims about downing the Indian fighter jets are factual then it would be a historic humiliation of India. Which makes me really, really wonder: Why would India blacken its face to the world in an exercise like this which wouldn't 'deter' Pakistan's policies on Kashmir anyway.
The world's defense community must be watching this conflict very carefully and with a great interest: Modern radars, missiles, fighter jets and whatnot being used by two professional armies in integrated ways. Even the Russia-Ukraine war doesn't compare because the Russians had gained the air superiority in no time. I guess one would have to go back to the Korean War of the 50s.
