The mistrust is on a very high level.

Many members here have been demanding action by Pak defence forces as of yesterday. They are also not happy with weak statements by few leaders that side.
What they need to understand is that the statements are meaningless.
My take is that there would be a counterattack 200% by Pakistan.
No one declares the timing.

Would there be a further escalation after that? I hope not.

Personally, I feel that there may be some problems in India, which has caused the Modi government to be eager to divert attention through war. It is unreasonable to launch a war without investigating a terrorist act.

They hit Amritsar or elsewhere along Punjab, India will take it to Karachi, for which they might try something too adventurous, like hitting Kochi shipyard, Mumbai, the Bombay high oil rigs.. it never ends.

The initial salvo of missiles was the Indian response to Pulwama and, as per India, that was the end of it. Now India is targeting cities all over Pakistan. This goes beyond the alleged Pulwama revenge and is clearly an escalation by India.

Ok..Two things.
Before this lahore incident simar reports came from Amritsar and Jalandhar. So may be tit for tit.
Second : indian leadership want to prolong the conflict towards a definite goal. We can only speculate about the goal.

Few experienced members aka mods have brought it out clearly that intercepting drones isn’t an easy task, even by most advanced militaries.
Fact that 12 (as claimed by ISPR) have been shot down, there is a possibility that atleast a few would have found their targets and done some meaningful damage.
It is unlikely that any side would accept any loss whatsoever at this stage of conflict. None wants that other side to be seen as stronger. It would come out later when dust settles down.

A retaliation by Paksiatn is most likely. That retaliation would now govern the course of action by India.

If launching of drones by India (if true) is an indication, that they are provoking the other side to take some decisive and visible action by launching strikes against targets in India. Unlike initial attacks the drone incursions are purely military in nature.

No they are not. You bastards are launching these at decidedly civilian areas in urban centers!!! A loitering munition just landed near a housing society on Burki. Another was intercepted near a Mall in Lahore.
A personal example below:
Walton Aerodrome & surroundings have been converted to civilian use years ago!!!
A loitering munition landed/was intercepted just two streets or so away from my khala's house who lives in Walton. Is your intel so bad that you duffers cannot tell which areas are civilian and which are actual military use or combined use?

it seems they are purposefully slimming out the air defense alert systems along the border. it may follow an attack, God knows.

This seems to be the most likely possibility: to exhaust Pakistan's AD as much as possible before the next wave.
