India attacks Pakistan's main population centres, and Pakistan attacks unimportant Indian Military bases near the Border. Really Pathetic to say the least.

No, Pakistan does not and SHOULD NOT attack any population centers/ normal civilians for many reasons including:

1. Against our teachings of islam
2. Its immoral
3. Against international norms
4. and lastly, you want to inspire and instill fear in them instead of revenge. Let their military take the brunt of the attacks. Let this reality sink in to the normal Hindutva's head that this ain't no game, this aint no movie. Pakistan has the capability to reach India at will, and strike targets at will and if India is not willing to respect the sovereignty of Pakistan, Pakistan is willing to BEAT SAID RESPECT into India.

@Blain2 I think India miscalculated that:
1) They could win a 'skirmish' and Pak won't respond
2) or Indian action will cause internal disturbance and chaos in Pakistan.

They didn't mobilise the troops to the border, so Delhi didn't want war. I think they kept sending the drones and attacked our air bases from either of the above two, especially the 2nd.

Somebody in RAW gravely miscalculated that poor economy, political unrest and other wars mean it is the right time to attack Pak.

I think previous air chief disagreed so he was fired
