ok Americans are working on the AIM -260A and AIM-174

these are to counter the Chinese PL-15 when it was released 10 years ago

China are working on the PL-17 for 6th generation aircraft J-36 and J-50

Pakistan should not put in a formal request

J-35 + PL-17 air to air missile
J-35 + PL-17 is big no no~ physically impossible.

PL-17 on J10C, actually PL-17 belongs to the same generation as PL-15, next gen after 15 and 17 are something else.

Pakistan has NO ROLE whatsoever in the design of J 10C YUP zip nada. Pakistan's role in JF17 is a paint job, nothing more. All of the critical components are shipped from China, even to this day. The Chinese engineer taught them how to assemble electronic components and passed it off as made in Pakistan
This is ignorant. China had no access to western trainings, systems and standards after 1989. Pakistan provided the insights and input, and Pakistan provided us with very valuable training inputs because they operate both Mid East aircrafts and their own. Their pilots are world class, and they did not downplay our contributions. Your name is Hendarto, where are you from? Don't split our bond.

A PL-17 based anti-radiation missile against enemy SAM radars.

Btw, here is a new comparison on the J-10 vs the Rafale by a respectable and Knowledgeable Youtube channel.

The PL-17 is about 6.6 meters long and weighs more than 1.5 tons. the J-35's magazine may not be able to accommodate it. For the time being, we only have photos of the J-11 and J-16 mounting the PL-17.

The PL-17 and PL-15 are missiles of the same generation.

Some people here deliberately discount the Chinese contribution to the Pakistan armed forces, forgetting that 81% of Pakistan's weapon imports are from China. Without an intensive 2-year training of a Pakistani pilot and provision of a soft loan to buy J-10, Pakistan is naked. So, please give credit where credit is due. By itself, Pakistan cannot afford to purchase first-rate weapons. China's achievement is hard-won with a lot of sweat and hard work. It is sacrilege to discount that kind of dedication. Here is the proof J10 was designed when China was poor

you do realise PAF pilots record goes way before 1998?

have you heard of any of the Greats

throughout its history Pakistan has over 30 flying Aces

none flew the J10, its the man behind the machine

although J10 is a brilliant aircraft no one is denying that

PL17 on J10 while stealthy J35 fly forward passing data back for long range targeting. While also taking shots with PL15.

PAF will induct few more squadrons of J10c in the near future. It is battle proven and able to carry PL17.
PL-17 is an ultra-long-range air-to-air missile developed by China. The following is its relevant information: - Basic parameters: The missile is about 6 meters long, 0.3 meters in radius, weighs about 500 kilograms, has an effective range of over 400 kilometers, and a maximum flight speed of Mach 6. - Aerodynamic layout: It adopts a light rod and wingless layout, with the main lift of the missile body. There are only four trapezoidal aerodynamic control surfaces at the tail of the missile body, which can reduce flight resistance and increase flight speed and range. - Propulsion system: It adopts a new three-pulse solid rocket engine to provide corresponding thrust in different flight stages to ensure the speed and maneuverability of the missile. - Guidance system: It adopts infrared and radar composite guidance, and the infrared imaging seeker has high detection accuracy. The radar guidance adopts a dual-mode passive composite radar seeker, equipped with a two-way data link, with the ability of "fire and forget" and can also adopt a non-target warning launch mode.

Hey buddy, PL17 hasn't been publicly exhibited at the air show yet. Currently, only photos and footage have been provided. I suggest you don't go into too much detail about the data, as this is an open foreign forum after all

1. To date, no official body has confirmed the “PL-17”. This code is also a speculation by military fans based on some information. Ultimately, it is still unknown whether the official name of this air-to-air missile will be “PL-17”. As for whether it can be exported, it is even more remote topic.

2, so far, the published photos only clearly show the J-16 carrying this missile. The photo of the J-10C is still controversial. It could be the PL-17, or it could just be a visualization of a missile launcher. We need to wait for clearer photo confirmation.

3, All the data about it is speculation and analysis by military fans, not official data.

J10C has proven it self now to help retire older F7 and Old Mirage (50-100)
Originally the plan was to acquire first generation between 2010-2014 however we ended up placing order much later, 2018-2019

However now , it is likely we will see more J10C in future

J-35 - 25% (New platform, planned)
J-10C - 25% (Proven platform, based on new performance)
JF17-III - 50% (Proven platform, on going plans)

But only PAK would know real figures or when the JF17 Block IV materialize
