Pakistan-India Conflict 2025: News Updates and Discussion

On a lighter note Mrs Aurangzeb would need to keep a tight eye on her husband now.

This is just one, it's all over X and insta.

According to Sami Abraham, the PAF pilots went inside Bharat with a Fidayin mission. They promised not to come back without hitting the targets. And, if they had failed they would have crashed the jets themselves without getting caught. Subhan'Allah....

As for the Air Chief, his stand was dead clear: no point in having a/c damaged at the bases. Get into the fight and take out as many bastards as possible....

*I personally feel blessed and honored to have met former PAF officers from family and friends. The father-in-law of a niece of mine was an F-16 pilot.

I think Pakistan should release some Satellite images, because without that no one on international community will believe anything we say, like in 2019 we talk about 2nd aircraft Su30 shot down but never produce any evidence hence no one believe it to this day, so initial claims for 5 fighters, than few more after the counter strikes is all talk and statements without any substantial evidence.
I was starting to believe that Pakistan response was disproportionate but its starting to feel that we did a " Rasmi hamla " just for the show off. And we made fun of ourselves by claiming to down so many fighter jets, Indians can literally use that against us and ridicule us in international media.

What is nagging me is why didn't Pakistan use its tier 1 cruise missles like Raad and Babur when India was using Brahmos. What can be the strategic thought behind it? Can anyone provide insight on this? @Oscar @FuturePAF
@ghazi52

I guess the chances were high that they would be knocked out by S400. Pak needs supersonic missiles like Brahmos.

You are absolutely right, at times, the truest loyalty lies in the courage to critique one’s own. Pointing out flaws isn’t betrayal; it’s a commitment to betterment. ..

Having said that, let’s be clear.... getting overly emotional and publicly bashing your own Forces (especially during wartime) isn’t just unhelpful, it’s reckless. This isn’t the time for performative outrage. Take a breath. Zoom out. Look at the bigger picture.

Everyone in Pakistan, even the schoolkids, knows one hard truth... the only thing holding India back from rolling in tanks and destroying Pak isn’t our conventional strength... it’s our nukes. Full stop. India’s economy is nearly 10 times bigger and its defense spending matches that scale. In that equation, our nuclear deterrent is the great equalizer. Everything else—jets, troops, tactics—is a bonus.

By all means, hold institutions accountable. But know when to speak, how to speak, and where to draw the line... And let’s hold off on the rushed conclusions—ISPR hasn’t even shown its hand yet.

And I haven’t even touched on this: if India had truly overwhelmed our air defences (as you say), what made them pull back and agree to a ceasefire?

Simple. Deterrence.

It did exactly what it was designed to do—make the other side think twice.

Also Pakistan performed reasonably well

Yes there are issues that Pakistan needs to work on but overall it fought well

It wasn't a one sided affair like 2019 and in the end it was India that ran to USA for ceasefire

Lots of improvement needed in air defence of Pakistan. I don't really know that how many HQ-9B and HQ-16FE batteries Pakistan armed forces operate but HQ-9B is a counter of indian S-400 and HQ-16FE is a counter of their MRSAM..
S-400--400KM max interception range
HQ-9B--260km max interception range
HQ-16FE--160km max interception range
MRSAM-ER--150km max interception range and baseline MRSAM has 70-100km max interception range.
But we definitely have less HQ-9B and HQ-16FE batteries in comparision to india's S-400(5 batteries) and MRSAM(4-8 batteries) which gives them some advantage..

But still for both countries countering small loitering munitions with these high end air defence systems will be too costly so both need to invest heavily on low-cost solutions. I believe Pakistan should now procure:
-More air defence guns like Orlikon with fire control radar.
-As displayed in PAF's PR videos HEL=High energy laser system
-Jammers like GIDS Spyder
-Manpads like Anza new variants..

PAF probably got a couple hits in, credit to their Chinese BVRs. But India wasn’t aiming for a fight with the PAF. The mission was simple, hit specific terror camps, not escalate into a full military clash. Once Pakistan responded, India replied. That’s basic escalation logic.

The Rafale getting hit? Sure, embarrassing. But from India’s point of view, this was a first, striking deep inside Pakistan proper, not just Pakistan Azaad Kashmir. And it wasn’t some military dictatorship ordering it.

What stands out is how selective India was. Looks like only camps with confirmed intel were hit. Probably to avoid unnecessary escalation. But since Pakistan seemed more focused on claiming an airforce 'win’ than worrying about a few terror camps, India could’ve easily gone for the probable ones too.

And let’s be honest, hitting major Pakistani bases didn’t seem all that hard. India probably chose not to go for the overkill, deliberately holding back to avoid pushing things further.

Meanwhile, back home, the rest of India apart from the border states barely flinched. It was mostly something to discuss over chai. We were literally finalizing the UK trade deal at the same time — arguing over whisky tariffs and visa quotas for yoga instructors. That’s the advantage of scale.

Still, credit where it's due, the boys at PAF held their nerve, got their moment, and gave their press team something to work with. Can’t fault them for making the most of it.
