Personally speaking, it's clear to me from the images that we can visually verify at least 4 + 1 Indian aircraft loses.

We have not seen evidence (just reports) of the 5th or 6th aircrafts.

In other words, it's likely that the PAF may have hit a 5th or 6th aircraft, but we do not know the extent of damage that they suffered.

Either way, for a limited scale skirmish, where neither side officially cross the LOC, this was devastating for the IAF.

Why isn’t this thread discussing the absolute hammering that Pakistan army gave in IIOJK? The white flags rising from posts. The headquarters leveled. The video of dead soldiers sprawled on the ground. And according to some sources, 10 km of territory in Rajori that Pak Army took over.

Inside India proper, we had assets on the ground making videos and uploading them. They show hits from afar. In the presence of these, the satellite images could be showing the picture after repair works. On the other hand, India could have targeted Pakistani airbases at a time when satellites were about to approach, making for good visual spectacle. No international media is reporting on major losses of expensive equipment or lives. So concluding a relative win for India is just biased reporting.

You are right. It doesn't make sense for India to be subservient to any Great Power. Nor for that matter it is in PAK's interest. It would be better for both if they were to sort out mutual issues amicably- it would ensure that neither can be played by outside powers. PAK will always face a bigger challenge on its Western Frontier and contrary to public opinion, IND faces a bigger challenge in the NE. If cordiality (if not outright friendship) prevails both countries can face their bigger issues better.

You are right. Anti-Muslim, anti-Pak rhetoric tends to peak just before polls, although actual violent episodes are quite rare. But even poisonous rhetoric vitiates the atmosphere. Problem is since we have 29 states we have elections almost every 6 months. ModiGee has suggested the idea of one nation, one poll (ONOP) where polls would be held in the Centre and all 29 states just once in 5 years. But Opposition is bitterly resisting it. If implemented, it will ensure 4.5 years of peace in every quinquennium. One could argue that since aayega to Modi hi, we may as well go in for ONNP (One Nation, No Poll)- that would completely obviate any need for anti Muslim, anti Pak rhetoric.

But they did! Our response was weak! Do you guys know how much is size of warhead Fattah 1 and 2 carries? These are MLRS (Rockets) against that Indian used GLCM Brahmos!! the damage will be significant on our side.

We had no answer! We could not use Abdali 1 SSM or Ghaznavi or Shaheen? Because we have earmarked them for nuclear delivery platform (by our own claim!) once fired we were not certain India wil take it as conventional event. So ballistic missiles were off the table. This is where we were found wanting S-400 SAM System near New Dehli intercepted at least 4 x fattah 2 GMRLS rounds at Hisar, India.

Once Indians Used Brahmos to attack AFBs we had no answer (we could not defend nor we could respond likewise) since a new normal is set. Anything happened in future except barrage of GLCM Brahmos again and again we will not have anything to respond with. We do not have aero-ballistic missiles. Its exteremely unfortunate in this new phase PAF and Pakistan Missile forces will deal with S-400 SAMs Umbrella and Counterfire from Brahmos ER also approximately 800km planned in future.

Its really unfortunate that we did not invest or purchase Zohair SSM from Iran with its 500km/320kg warhead is perfect choice. Same goes for the drones.

Indian Knew it! That is why they used it. Better to suck up the beating and get ready for next round.

also – one good thing did came about for Pakistan. What I hear after the air battle S-400 SAM sites rolled forward and indian correctly identified Saab-2000 as source of all problems. They had tried many times attempt to shoot it down with there longest range missiles. Now remember DG ISPR conference from day 1 missile getting shot at kharian, 3 crashing near amritser. Same just before Brahmos hit the Nurkhan AFB they had fired at Saab 2000 AEW to force it to move back. These were not the ballistic missiles. then we lost overlord 3 on ground at Bholari.

The threat of Brahmos + S400 was identified on old PDF. Our answer was supposed to be CM400 + HQ9. In reality, we relied too much on soft kill. Do not for one moment think we don’t have capability to hard kill Brahmos. We just didn’t have the numbers. On this thread somebody has shared X post showing hard kill in the air and wreckage on the ground. But we didn’t have the numbers. And we waited until they figured out how to jam us instead of keeping them on the back foot. So overconfidence on EW.

We need a doctrinal shift to perform offensive defence. Obtain air superiority and pound their air defences. If they send probes, attack the location from where the probes are coming. If they fire Brahmos, take out the location immediately. Don’t wait around for ‘when we respond the world will see’. Don’t wait for approvals from other countries.

Finally, if we are to create a volume of CM400, that puts a lot of pressure on PAF. We need surface to surface hypersonic weapons. Or drones that can launch it in volume.

Another thing: drones in our cities. Ask the question: has the enemy created sleeper cells that start flying armed drones in our cities, giving the impression of drones by-passing our systems? The enemy could have created the impression of defeating our air defences and we took the bait.

Unlikely. Few countries would take the risk to leave drones to possible double agents and that too in a neighbouring country.

Unfortunately, India isn’t just ‘few countries’. It is a hate filled enemy willing to go to irrational lengths to achieve its aims. I am not saying it happened or didn’t happen. I am just putting it out there for people to analyse.
