PAF J-35AE - News, Updates and Discussions

J-35AE. Could AE represent UAE?

It is strange that even as countries like Pakistan, Romania and Morrocco are looking at inducting 5th Gen, countries like Saudi, UAE and Qatar, with massive budgets, have been kept out of the 5th Gen game, instead going for high end 4.5th gen western solutions.

Pretty sure the main GCC players will not put up with this for long, although maybe as long as Iran does not have a decent air force they are happy with the status quo

By the way ... interesting rumour from one of the big shrimps: The export version of the J-35A has indeed already flown and the launch customer is definitely NOT Pakistan!
Maybe @Michael knows more?
A foreign trade version of the J-35 has actually always existed. But these are not the PAF versions.
PAF will get the foreign trade version of J-35 in the future, not J-35A.

I don't know how many foreign customers the J-35 has. the future production of the J-35 will be very large.
The fact that the Chinese companies involved have dared to invest such a huge amount of money in building these production facilities shows that they already have a lot of interested customers and, they are very confident in the product.

Thanks for sharing the update! The induction of the J-31 will definitely be a significant boost for Pakistan’s air capabilities. Excited to see how this impacts the region’s defense dynamics.

Oh!

What? That's interesting, btw, the naval version has flown today, there are videos on weibo, but I didn't find it on twitter yet.

O bhaijaan, sit down before you pull a muscle trying to sound deep. I’ve been living in the U.S. for 24 years, watching realpolitik unfold — not sipping chai at some chowk pretending to be Tom Clancy of Gulberg. Let’s get one thing straight: China isn’t just a friend, it’s a firewall. While your Gulf “brothers” were too busy launching Instagram ministries, China was:
  • Building roads, ports, and power plants in Pakistan — not on Zoom calls.
  • Blocking UNSC moves against Pakistan while others sent “concerns” and silence.
  • Giving us tech, tools, and teeth — not just "thoughts and prayers."
So no, I don’t need a geopolitical TED Talk from a local expert whose idea of strategy is shouting “badey bhai” on Twitter and forwarding WhatsApp conspiracies. Until then — enjoy the spice 🌶️.

lets not forget the VETO at UN after our nuclear tests

For Pakistan, J-35A acquisition will present several challenges.
Even if China provide at reduced costs, lifetime support, maintenance, spares, costs will be more than the planes itself.

Repair, and maintenance for stealth will be additionally difficult.
Fixing Composites, Airframe skin, RAM, will be costly unless Pak builds a separate infrastructure for repair and maintenance, which will be challenging in the absence of domestic mature know how.

This is while China has not finalized the engines, and still developing WS19 or any Western comparable engine.
May be just replace engine every 3000-4000 hrs!
How can an unproven, unmature turbojet can be installed in a 5th Gen Fighter?

Its all about priorities. Pakistan can reduce army size by 100K to compensate air force/missile development. Its the way forward.

I was wondering about this some hours ago and I believe that the game is too deep for us to understand this from the mere lens of weapons acquisitions.

Israel is the threat. They know that Israel is the only enemy that could wipe them to dust.

The huge finance promises to the US are a filthy game orchestrated by the zionists to trap arabian wealth within their systems, use that as a threat for their survival and ask them for more until they are further trapped.

All the western weapon acquisitions is basically part of this shitshow

not suprised

looks like F-16s will be heading to the museum in a decade or so...

PAF will look like this

J-31 - Cutting edge stealth at least 2 sqdn
J-10s - High tech 100 Approx
JF-17 - mid tech work horse 300+

F-16 isn’t going to any museum any time soon. Still an extremely capable plane

Pitiful masses on both sides.

More like neanderthals living in 21st century, wrongfully blessed with technology

Hi,

In modern warfare---ground attack would hardly ever happen due to SA & shoulder launched missiles.

Smart weapons would be used most the time---.
Hi sir,

I want to see more more damage on Indian airbases this time. I hope our raad alcm can cause damage and I am sure it has the capability to defeat Indian ads because I am more worried about Indian ADS. They performed well last time and they are introducing three more ADS soon. We need something that penetrates their ADS. Babur should work but I want to see raad alcm as well. What do you think about our jets targeting their airbases? Like bombers from long range standoff weapons etc. thanks

Oh bhai, let’s clear one thing up real quick — I didn’t roll into America clutching a visa lottery like it was a scratch card. I came through the front door: U.S. university, hard-earned degree, and a career built on merit, not memes. You're out here ranting about “Whitman’s table” like you’ve been dining with foreign policy elites — meanwhile, your entire argument sounds like it was drafted at a chai dhaba during load shedding. Just because you’re in the U.S. doesn’t mean you got promoted to geopolitical analyst by default. Location ≠ logic. And about China? They didn't send us leftover slogans — they showed up with roads, ports, power plants, and vetoes. That's more than we can say for your Instagram-friendly “brotherly allies.” So next time you want to sound informed, come with facts — not half-baked one-liners and chocolate metaphors. Otherwise, the only crumbs you’ll find are the ones falling from real debates.
