Pakistan-India Conflict 2025: News Updates and Discussion

Not every Indian supports the idea of starving 250 million people of fresh water. That would be catastrophic—morally, regionally, and environmentally. I count myself among those who believe that long-term peace and sustainability must prevail over punitive instincts.

However, our neighbors in Pakistan must also understand: these developments around water and infrastructure aren't spontaneous—they're deliberate and strategic. India has begun laying the groundwork. The question is: will the Pakistani establishment recognize this shift before it's too late, or will it fall into the "boiling frog" syndrome—acting only when the damage is irreversible?

Let’s also acknowledge the changing balance of power through an economic lens.

  • In 2016, when India conducted the surgical strikes, our GDP stood at $2.16 trillion. Pakistan's GDP was $313 billion.
  • In 2019, during the Balakot air strikes, India's GDP had grown to $2.9 trillion, while Pakistan’s was $320 billion.
  • Now, in 2025, following Operation SINDOOR, India's GDP is at $4.19 trillion. Pakistan’s stands at approximately $380 billion.

The takeaway is clear: with each crisis, India returns to the table stronger—economically and militarily. It can afford the risks of escalation and strategic signaling. The question Pakistan must ask itself is—can it match that trajectory? Can it bear the costs of continued brinkmanship?
Not sure why so many people are fixated on GDP, and how this translates to the military battlefield.

Ever since 2016, Pakistan has outmanoeuvred and outperformed india militarily, especially in this recent conflagration, despite the overwhelming superiority of india on paper in terms of quality and quantity. If other regional conflicts are anything to go by, GDP means jack, unless you want to get bogged down into a war of attrition, like the Russians in Ukraine, and I don't see two nuclear states doing that, least of all india, because india cannot afford a war of attrition like those in Afghanistan. Even the USSR and the Americans could not afford it economically, militarily, or politically.

The indians, in their hubris, think they are the equivalent of the US in the region, and Pakistan is like Syria, Palestine, or Somalia, you're making that mistake too. Sure, you can try diverting billions of tons of water, lets see how far you get with that. Modi isn't immortal, he won't be around to see his deluded vision.

The Pakistanis, along with Afghans, are masters of low intensity long term conflicts, they'd be happy to oblige the indians, if that's what you want, and you can have GDP of trillions like the Americans, and it won't matter.

Because people like you don't want to address the key problem to why all this is happening - Kashmir. As long as that conflict remains, india and Pakistan will remain locked in a struggle, until one no longer exists, or both.

See you again in another 5 years or so in the next round, and you can tell us the GDP numbers.

India with mock drills again.

They attcked last time during Mock drills.....Chinese media also quoting that India is under huge domestic pressure and may resume Bhramos strikes.

Question remains, why would India do such drills when hostilities have been over since weeks? Every sane person saying that if India is to do anything to restore its pride, it will do it in next 2-3 weeks else they will again go for shopping spree and will try something bigger.

Operation Sindoor is an ongoing Indian war on Pakistan. The Indian masses have shown little contentment for the operations success. Opposition parties have decried Modi government's apparent capitulation at the hands of American intervention and ruling coalition government has very little in terms of the way out. If Indian nation does not go to war against an external foe, they will tumble into infighting.

Pakistani authorities have been pleading to her few brotherly supporters while rest of the world's indifference to war in South Asia is deplorable.
