India currently has several advantages over Pakistan in a missile war.
I believe Pakistan is going to counter India by creating a large arsenal of missiles capable of destroying enough Indian assets to 'deter' India. India has the strategic depth but still several cities and military infra are vulnerable. And with China so purposefully behind Pakistan, India can NEVER prevail over Pakistan.

To be honest availability of assets is not the problem, Babur and Raad have been in production since early 2000s even if they were just producing 100-150 Babur and Raads a year, we have around like 2k-3k of these long range SOWs, same can be said about ballistic missiles especially Shaheen 1 and Shaheen 2.
We could have rattled India even with these early 2000s Weapons.
I am sure there are other fairly modern missiles too. But even the above mentioned weapons are an overkill for India.

Pakistan is the only South Asian country where India intervenes militarily. India has never carried out military interventions in Nepal, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Myanmar, or Bhutan.

Economies of scale come into picture here. Who has the bigger economy? Who can set up manufacturing units faster?

And technically Russia and India are fast partners in defence tech, Brahmos was a collaboration after all.

It seems like at least a phone call was required before Carney was willing to reverse the prior G7 invitation list snub. An invitation "demanded" is still evidence of some degree of diplomatic influence, whichever way we cut it.

I would however suggest, it seems to be more a case of economic leverage +/- geographical happenstance with regards to China that is creating political leverage, by default, for India, which is perhaps inevitable.

Pakistan doesn't have the economic leverage, therefore needs to be politically shrewd and calculating. I have my thoughts on how we can improve but those are not for this thread.

Brahmos has been in active service in various wings of Indian forces since 2007 (different variants). The thousand limit was probably crossed in early 2010-2018 itself.
