What has taken Iran to the current position, people around the world praises Iran for the brilliant mastermind and support behind Hamas, Houthi and Hezabolah which inflicted heaviest damages to the Isreali, more than middle east war but here we are, what went wrong?

Irans retaliation can not be just about revenge it needs a strategic move. If they can they need to test the bomb.

Israel's weapons have been proven quite mediocre during the 5.7 air battle.

'only' 4 confirmed commanders killed

from those 1 was a national disgrace (Salami), 1 was inactive and removed from his role a while ago (Shamkhani), 1 was close to retirement already aged 72 (Ali Rashid) and 1 was not very competent (Bagheri)

Salami and Bagheri already replaced by equally experienced and more competent commanders

Fereydoon Abbasi was one of the 5-10 scientists assassinated. in his last interview he said his job in training the next generation to replace him is already done.
