There are three different situations, and each has its context:
Israel vs. Palestine:
The Indian government has consistently supported the rights of Palestinians in forums like the UN and other important platforms.
Israel vs. Non-State Actors:
Here, India naturally leans toward supporting Israel, because groups like Hamas or Hezbollah pose threats not just regionally, but globally. These actors don’t represent peace or stability.
Israel vs. Iran:
This one is complex. Both countries are important and long-standing friends of India.
Some Indians may support Israel, given its strategic support to India in tough times.
Others may lean toward Iran, recognizing our deep cultural, historical, and economic ties. And many, like me, choose to stay neutral, hoping for peace and understanding on all sides.
If people can’t see that nuance, there’s really nothing more to explain.
