Man it sucks but I remember the time period before the 2003 attack on Iraq. I remember Bush being ambigious about whether the attack would go forward or not, just like Trump is now. I remember the Pentagon and State Dept officials assuring everyone it would be easy. I even remember the neocons, RIchard Pearle and those characters confidently claiming Iraq was close to making a WMD and the war had to happen!

Its like a replay of a bad film!

Well, if that happens then lets hope Iran makes life hell for everyone, including Israel. That was the final plan, after all and that is what has been keeping US at bay. If the US really thinks Iran can do it, then they will keep bluffing like Trump has been doing for the last 5 days. If they don't think Iran can pull it off then lets see and hope they are wrong.

Nah, with Trump, "approved" never means anything. He's been playing cat and mouse with the whole thing for days now. He seems to have major cold feet about this all. The neocons are pushing him into it but its not like the Neocons ever gave a good advice to any president. Trump of all would know that.

Nothing against any specific country but reputations are earned over decades of results.

US, Europe, Japan, South Korea earned their laurels after decades of proving their mettle. China was dismissed until now but they have spent decades earning their badge also. Iran has earned respect with their indigenous missiles and Pakistan with the nuclear bomb. Few people will believe any other tall claims coming out of India, Pakistan, Africa, South America, etc. until there is decades of evidence.

There is a certain truth to her statement: You never fight directly with your enemy, but you have someone else fight for you.

The least you do is have a continuous supply chain of arms going, and have the opposing parties fight a bloody battle in a war of attrition, costing treasure and blood. You can't replace the able-bodied men while the treasure gets depleted just as quickly.

It's why I support the Russians in Ukraine. Now the question is, how will the U.S. or China get entangled in their meat grinder? The Russians missed their chance in Afghanistan and Iraq to grind the Americans down and have their revenge.
