Iran - Israel/US War: Israel-US declare war on Iran, Iran responds

I've posted already a couple of times my my own thoughts. The President is in a tough spot. The MAGA base (the sane ones at least) and a lot of Democrats are opposed. A section of the MAGA base is wondering "why haven't we just ended this already?" And then there is the Deep State - Military Industrial Complex. Wars are good for their portfolios.

Already, the spin doctors are out there trying to drum up support. I just came from lunch with a few people who made their position clear.

By delaying this two weeks, the President is sending everyone a message. He's taking a page right out of President Lincoln's playbook. Lincoln was famous for writing letters to someone he was angry with, put them away overnight, and by the next day, after he had a chance to reconsider, throw the letter away. I think we're seeing similar here. Yes, he still maintaining current position; unconditional surrender. Yet, the message is clear.

Remember, it wasn't that long ago that he said "60 days". Not too late to sit down in a backroom somewhere. If Oman is not acting as the intermediary then it's likely Pakistan. Someone is.
Great insight. I recently went to Gettysburg, took the tour and walked the battlefield. It’s a series of small hills and one large one around the town. Both sides could not see the other literally bidding behind one long hillock. The battle hinged on short distance of a mile between the armies and the third day decided by one army capturing a hill 10 minutes before the other army could arrive. Having see the slaughter at Gettysburg really hit home the war to Lincoln. The causalities as a proportional of the combatants were a small percentage, unlike what we would have believed considering the significance of the battle. His famous address was only a few minutes long, but considering Gettysburg was fought in the north, its ramifications really hit home.

If a war with Iran does happen, it might be too late, as the ramifications may echo for decades, including here at home in the US, just like Iraq still bogs us down in personnel but also trillions in debt, stabilizing a region and paying for a war fought on a false pretext, when we are energy independent ourselves.

Ironically I was listening to the full audiobook of Trump’s Art of the deal during my trip to understand the man better.

I read the book myself a while back, but you wouldn't really understand him as much, because it was ghostwritten. More so, you need to see interviews of his family members to have a better understanding of him, and I think Charles Munger described him best as vain glory and puffery in character.

usually they are full of perverse "humor" and cynical remarks, apparently it hurts much more when they have someone on the other side that can return punch.

don't underestimate how much hatred Whites, Hispanics, and Blacks have for Muslims. Not sure if you are White or another larping Indian here but I've spend enough time with all of them and they have deep-hatred for Muslims. It stems from a superiority complex. Sure, not all, but many. They only hate war in the Middle East because their soldiers got shredded in both wars. Had they won with minimal damages, they would be gung-ho right about it.
Still hung up with the idea I'm Indian, are you now?

I'll update my sig-line to "I'm not Indian, Wahhabi, Indian troll, Wahhabi Indian troll, or Martian. I'm white".

Those same ethnicities hate each other as well as themselves. Blacks are proving themselves to be the worst. That is a topic for a separate thread.

I've got Muslim neighbors and I've got Indian neighbors. I also work with both. No animosity with them. They've none for me, and, I've seen none amongst them. Maybe we smoke better weed?

Ignorance is an easily exploited thing.
