If one off strike by the Americans then Iran got lucky.

For Iran a continuous bombing campaign would have been draining. However Iran would have easily mined the Persian Gulf, resulting in world wide economic problems.

There's now two options for Iran right now, regardless of the fate of Fordow.

1) bomb US bases, and possibly get the US involved in a long war.

2) Ignore this, and keep striking Israel, and assume the US will not want to get itself involved further.

Its a wait and see right now.

Means you are likely right. This government has no spine. 25 years only to rollover. Iran could have just been a west puppet state for that 25 years and achieved the same ineptitude, but at least its people wouldn’t be starved by the West via sanctions for decades. At least Iran would have an economy and toman wouldn’t go from $1 = 1000 toman to $1 = 100,000 toman

Iran can fight Israel but US is not in same category. US is different. Only China can fight US, and to some extent Russia because of their well equipped submarine force & hypersonics. Any other country cannot fight US, only if US brings its ground troops which was not the plan anyways. The plan was for air campaign from day 1. US didn't brought any ground troops etc,

So don't call Iran Paper tiger, Even if US do that to Pakistan, what possibly we can do? Don't forget They bombed us for years using drones and they did OBL raid etc.

So even if Iran had built nukes, that would have stopped Israel from attacking Iran but US could still have attacked Iran as Iran has no means to reach US mainland. Only guarantee / deterrence would have been Nukes + ICBMs, like North korea did. Pak should learn from it, If we don't have global reach, then our deterrence is nothing in front of super powers like US. For us, a better solution would be nuclear powered subs. but anyways that's different discussion.

If Iran does not counterattack here, it's the end.
It would mean that from now on, the US. can bomb any part of Iran at will, whenever it pleases.
If Khamenei fails to understand this and refuses to counterattack, Iran will meet the same fate as Iraq, Syria, and Libya.
The reformists will triumphantly surrender to the U.S. and establish a pro American regime.

it would probably depend on the damage that US strikes might have caused.

Otherwise carryout only symbolic strikes against some US bases. Rest carry on business with Israel.
