Yes, Iran has been granted full access to China's BeiDou satellite navigation system for military purposes.
Here's a breakdown of the information:
- 2015 Agreement: In October 2015, the Iranian defense electronics company SaIran signed an agreement with Chinese firms to begin using BeiDou-2 satellite positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) technology.
- Purpose: This technology is intended to improve the targeting capabilities of Iranian missiles and UAVs.
- Full Access Granted: In 2021, Iran was reportedly granted full access to the BeiDou system for military purposes. This is significant because the military-grade signals are more accurate than commercially available GPS services.
- Benefits: The use of BeiDou offers advantages for Iran, especially considering potential restrictions on GPS access. Some sources suggest it may contribute to the rapid development of Iranian missile and drone programs.
Iran HAS NOT BEEN granted any access to Beidou system - stop making stuff up. Iran is NOT an ally of China, in fact, it refused any cooperations from China despite signing $400 billion investment agreement and then going back on it.
