Allies take on different strategic roles depending on their strength and national conditions — that doesn’t mean China treats Iran as a proxy.

Unlike the U.S., China doesn’t force its allies to sacrifice their own national interests just to serve China’s. For instance, even with ongoing tensions with India, China has never asked Pakistan to provide unconditional military support or to block reconciliation efforts between Pakistan and India.

Pakistan has remained almost entirely independent in its dealings with both the U.S. and India — and the same goes for Russia.

That said, I do think there are some misunderstandings between Iran and China. Maybe it’s because both are ancient civilizations with thousands of years of history — sometimes we might both just be a bit too proud.

That's why China hasn't forced Iran to be an expendable pawn to be China's pivot to drag the US down.

We know that Iran's foremost goal is to become developed and powerful, not to be sacrificed for other country's battle of hegemony.

We need to let the Iranian leadership to understand, especially those pro-west ones, that to surrender to the west is a dead end, and the only solution to fight for your survival, and China will provide help as much as it can.

Iran seems like will continue sending drones and missiles towards the entity.

They’d be well advised to negotiate, honestly.

Closing down the Straits of Hormuz or attacking US bases in the Middle East would be suicidal.

The Iranians have showed they can take the fight to Israel. Take that and sue for peace. There is no gain in continuing the war.
