Looks like everyone wants to drop Iran as an ally. The Russians, Chinese, Pakistanis and Indians all think their friend should be protected by someome else. Even the Iranian proxies seem to have abandoned them.

Let this be clear- Iran's foreign policy is highly arrogant and based on the notion that it can never be a lesser partner. It also is fanatical and tries to push its religious influence. When Rouhani came to India, he went to give a seminary in Hyderabad mosque! This is unbecoming for a presidential visit. Visiting a mosque is okay but giving an entire religious speech is inappropriate. Iran also makes tough deals with China & Russia which has practically alienated them. This is why Russia didn't bother to defend Syria but just withdrew, for example.

Of course, for China is out of question, all factions of the US politics are regarding China as the largest threat since their existence, it is either you or me.

But for Iran, it is also now the same, they cannot rely on those Democrats anymore, they are doing the soft killing to Iran, just as lethal as the GOP.

China is safe. you have nukes. nobody will bomb a country if they have nukes.
the problem of Iran is they need too long to develop nukes. if the Mullahs talk less and work more like the North Koreans then they were now in a different situation.

I actually feel relieved that the US attack wasn’t a full blown nation ending shock and awe campaign that killed thousands. I think that Trump tried to balance Israeli demands to attack with opposition from his voters.

I don’t think that Iran has been humiliated even though they may be feeling it. They can stop now with their dignity intact and try to fix their weaknesses.
