I can see the case to bomb the Sheikhs' palaces and their infrastructure, but why go after US bases where no one is home, all soldier's have been evacuated and it's hard to do any effective damage on a sprawling base.

And I'd be happy if the Americans get out of this--this is what NY Times is reporting to interpret Trump basically saying 'We are out of this'.
If that's the case then Israel better be very concerned. Very.

Won't happen when IAEA personnel are allowed to roam all over the country and Iran voluntarily continues to accept more stringent checks.

I was listening to the IAEA Chief's (I think) interview and he was saying that Iranians usually claim their Supreme Leader has given a Fatwa denouncing nuclear weapons, but at the same time Iranian senior leadership keeps saying and/or indicating they have all the knowledge, skill set and material to build nuclear weapons. This then forces the IAEA to be suspicious of Iran and IAEA is expected to increase their inspections which the Iranians then resist.

All this gets reported and it goes against Iran.

So, why can't the Iranian leadership just keep quiet rather than brag about something they obviously don't have?

Yes but this flight is part of Operation Sindhu - evacuation of Indian Nationals from Israel.
 
Opening the front in the south is the right strategy; rather, it should be done on a larger scale. Qatar and UAE's ABMs, if left alone, will eventually be sent to Israel and used for interception. If that's the case, they should be preemptively expended using the large number of SRBMs available. Similarly, the air forces in these regions, if left unchecked, will only be used to defend Israel. To prevent this, a large number of drones should also be deployed to keep the fighter jets confined to the Gulf region. You are forgetting that the U.S., UK, France, Germany, and the Gulf states are all mobilizing to wage war, and that air power and missile resources are being shared among them.
