While Iran may have been on the loosing end if the metric was combat/civilian losses, however -- one can't help as a Muslim, but be proud of these guys for the absolute thrashing they've administered to the Israelis. Just goes to show that the Jewish appetite for war is only there if the other side isn't/cant respond. In my honest opinion:
1- Iran needs to be a nuclear power. No ifs, buts about it now. Ayatollah needs to revisit his fatwa, considering there are things such as tactical nuclear weapons in today's day and age. So while one gets the basis of his argumentation, there are ways in which civilian casualties can be minimized and the damage can be controlled.
2- Iran needs to recognize that India is not an ally. Russia has shown that they aren't a reliable partner either. Better join in with the Chinese.
3- The assumption that the west/ Israel is just out to regroup and will engage in like 3-4 months, in my opinion is not accurate. The Israeli appetite for war has been exposed. They had to restrict their own civilians from leaving their country, limit the videos on social media to have some semblance of a face saving. Now that Iran has established that it is willing and able strike at will in Israel, I believe it'll give sometime to the regime, to hunt out moles from within and try to get back on their feet.
4- Whether one likes to admit it or not -- the lollipop of the noble peace prize actually worked. After the attempt/strikes by Iran on US bases, US could've escalated it further. However, it chose not to. There are many that would say that the attacks on the nuclear strikes were more of a show. That and the pressure from the inside with the No Kings march, the pressure exerted by the liberals as well as the pressure by the everyday American who via social media got a reality check as to what goes on in Gaza/Palestine and the extent of inhumane behavior of the Israelis as they openly commit war crime after another, jointly contributed in suing for peace instead of expanding the war.
For me, Iran has now gained enough time where it should go and regroup, invest in an integrated air defense system, invest in its air force where it -- if not dominate, can challenge incursions by the IDAF, repair what was damaged, withdraw from the NPT and start building its nukes.
