“We are, of course, interested in the preservation of law and order in Armenia, so that Armenia is a prosperous, stable country, friendly to Russia,” Peskov added.

Earlier, Pashinyan announced that a coup plot against the government led by a senior cleric had been thwarted by the country's law enforcement agencies.

"Law enforcement officers prevented a large and sinister plan by the 'criminal-oligarchic clergy' to destabilize the Republic of Armenia and seize power," Pashinyan wrote on Facebook, sharing a statement issued earlier by Armenia's Investigative Committee, which said the plot was foiled by the National Security Service during its "preparatory stages.”

Unfortunately, Armenians don't believe in peace with Azerbaijan. Almost the entire Armenian population is convinced that Karabağ will be reconquered one day.

A total of 68.5% of Armenians do not believe peace with Azerbaijan is possible, according to a survey by the Yerevan-based Arar Foundation.

A roughly similar proportion, 62.8%, believe that the issue of Karabakh is not closed, and see a realistic prospect of peace only after it is fully resolved.

A huge 87.5% of respondents agreed that the loss of Karabakh is only temporary, replying positively to the statement: “The loss of Artsakh is temporary, we must strengthen our army and bring back what was lost”.
