China-Iran trade of volume in 2008 was close to $30 billion dollars and it was planned to surpass $50 billion dollars in the next 5 years. I remember quite well that I was in high school and Ahmadinejad was the President at the time and our economic partnership with China and our volume of trade was growing insanely fast. Had our economy not collapsed due to crippling sanctions, our trade volume might've even exceeded $100 billion dollars by now, I don't see why not.

For comparison, Iran's GDP in 2008 was $410B. Saudi Arabia's GDP was $510B. Iran's GDP as of 2025 is $340B while Saudi Arabia's GDP is $1.14T.
If Iran had been left alone, our GDP would've surpassed $1T mark a couple of years ago. And assuming a proportional growth of our trade volume with China, our trade volume would've been close to $90B now. Yet, you decided to help the US cripple our economy over something that was in no way a threat to you in any imaginable scenario, and was completely under IAEA supervision.

Why create confusion? Best to stay with the official classifications. Besides, the customization on Azerbaijani JF-17, i.e. Turkish techs, are unlikely to be made available to Iran. If Iran ever acquires JF-17 it’s likely to be almost all things Chinese.

Iran would like to integrate its own weapons in JF-17. They don’t want off the shelf option.

It depends on how define victory. Some still claim Taliban defeated the US. But look at what state Afghanistan is in. If Israel has not felt any pain from TP3, they would not have ended the war after 12 days. They would have continued the slaughter for years just like you see in Gaza.

And because of that a lot of analysts like Col. McGregor are saying Iranis are "stupid" to have agreed to the ceasefire now. As it is US defense companies are under sanction from the sole rare earths producer/refiner China, they would have struggled to replenish the interceptors for US itself leave alone Israel.
