Agreed. The impact of sanctions should not be underplayed. Pakistan knows only too well.China is buying 90% of Iranian oil exports because nobody else wants to buy our oil, except for some countries like Italy in the black market. You wouldn't have had to buy 90% of our oil if we still had access to a diverse range of buyers.
China-Iran trade of volume in 2008 was close to $30 billion dollars and it was planned to surpass $50 billion dollars in the next 5 years. I remember quite well that I was in high school and Ahmadinejad was the President at the time and our economic partnership with China and our volume of trade was growing insanely fast. Had our economy not collapsed due to crippling sanctions, our trade volume might've even exceeded $100 billion dollars by now, I don't see why not.
For comparison, Iran's GDP in 2008 was $410B. Saudi Arabia's GDP was $510B. Iran's GDP as of 2025 is $340B while Saudi Arabia's GDP is $1.14T.
If Iran had been left alone, our GDP would've surpassed $1T mark a couple of years ago. And assuming a proportional growth of our trade volume with China, our trade volume would've been close to $90B now. Yet, you decided to help the US cripple our economy over something that was in no way a threat to you in any imaginable scenario, and was completely under IAEA supervision.
I read the article but I failed to realize how it served our interests. That' what the Japanese, not a friend of China, research article says. I think the most devastating sanctions on Iran economy are from US and EU own sanctions that prohibit them and others from doing vast majority if not nearly all business with Iran.
Definitely is AILooks like AI?
This is horrible. It rewards genocide and ethnic cleansing and evil and ensures the Mideast will remain stuck with dictatorships forever.SAUDI ARABIA AND SYRIA TO JOIN ABRAHAM ACCORDS!
Following a 4-way call (Trump, Netanyahu, Rubio, Dermer) after the Iran strikes, both sides agreed on these “fundamental principles in general terms”:
“Gaza hostilities will conclude within two weeks”
“Four Arab nations (including Egypt and the UAE) will administer the Gaza Strip, replacing the murderous Hamas terrorist organization”
“The remaining Hamas leadership will face exile to other countries, while the hostages gain freedom”
“Multiple nations globally will accept numerous Gaza inhabitants seeking emigration”
“Abraham Accords expansion will bring Syria, Saudi Arabia, and additional Arab and Muslim countries to recognize Israel and establish official relationships”
“Israel will declare its willingness for future Palestinian conflict resolution under the ‘two states’ concept, contingent upon the Palestinian Authority reforms”
“The United States will acknowledge limited Israeli sovereignty implementation in Judea and Samaria”
Also: Trump reportedly angered by Israeli strikes after his Iran ceasefire announcement, fearing it would derail this
Iran would like to integrate its own weapons in JF-17. They don’t want off the shelf option. Why create confusion? Best to stay with the official classifications. Besides, the customization on Azerbaijani JF-17, i.e. Turkish techs, are unlikely to be made available to Iran. If Iran ever acquires JF-17 it’s likely to be almost all things Chinese.
Pressure the USNetanyahu had already said from day 1 that their war with Iran would last 12 days. Pressure whom for a ceasefire?
Has the UN passed a resolution on this war that I don't know of?
What are you implying he came to do? Again nominally we are "strategic partners." Their minister of defense probably came to say empty words about how they support us after being attacked. Why did Shoigu visit Iran after Israel's last year attack on Tehran? What did Russia do for us after his visit?
It depends on how define victory. Some still claim Taliban defeated the US. But look at what state Afghanistan is in. And Iran is surrounded by these Arab traitors who are protected by the US and now they have a second coalition including Israel. I will have to say Iran lost this one. The region wants to be enslaved, you can’t fight this mindset. But China is mediator of Iranian-Saudi detente deal...what would be their reaction, because this is Trump's indirectly poke at the Chinese interests in the region, we will see
Edit: are you kidding me, arab military coalition ...defeated by Houthis singlehandedly with Iranian support...
It was first they used Cyprus to dismantle ottoman empire and they penetrated in Cyprus and used it to keep ottoman Empire on its knees. British were using this Iceland for centuries. Is this the case in North Cyprus as well?
What for? The ceasefire was their idea.Pressure the US
I have no idea. I wasn't there, but I guess he probably came here to tell us that we should not respond to the Israeli 2024 aggression. What are you implying he came to do? Again nominally we are "strategic partners." Their minister of defense probably came to say empty words about how they support us after being attacked.
And because of that a lot of analysts like Col. McGregor are saying Iranis are "stupid" to have agreed to the ceasefire now. As it is US defense companies are under sanction from the sole rare earths producer/refiner China, they would have struggled to replenish the interceptors for US itself leave alone Israel. If Israel has not felt any pain from TP3, they would not have ended the war after 12 days. They would have continued the slaughter for years just like you see in Gaza.
