They cannot be used at very low altitudes like attack choppers or hide behind hills before emerging to take on their targets. UAVs have utility but they cannot totally replace attack helicopters in a conventional war.

Different purposes, Attack helicopters can do something that drones can't, hover, they can more effectively adapt to a changing situation, also attack helicopters can operate from forward bases close action while drones have to take off from main bases

IMO. There is probably a 90% chance that Pakistan will not buy the Z-10ME helicopter gunship.

1. A number of recent wars have shown that the role of the specialized helicopter gunship has been significantly reduced. The threat it faces on the battlefield is higher than ever before.
2. UCAVs have been able to fully replace many important roles of manned specialized helicopter gunships on many levels. Large unmanned helicopters have also emerged.
3, China's more advanced specialized helicopter gunship, the Z-21, has emerged. Pakistan's need for the Z-10ME is not particularly urgent, and it could have waited until the Z-21 matured to buy it directly.

Gunship in war now face more threats and challenges, but Pakistan's procurement of any gunship helicopter is not tied only for any future anti armour war, but in my opinion more pressing need come for anti terrorism operations in sub conventional operations.

@MastanKhan The J-10B example you gave on the other thread and Z-10 is the prime example of why China probably considers us their favorite customer despite our financial shortfalls.

They value our inputs regarding platform modification, optimization. This has been catalystic in bridging the gaps between their tech and the west and now they’re going even beyond at a rapid pace.

It wasn't entirely funds, the platform had quality issues for Pakistan and the Chinese had been doing aggressive R&D to patch up some issues. Supposedly engine power has increased and some other additional tweaks.

Russian KA-52s decimated Ukrainian armour back in 2023, there's nothing that can replace the Close air support a attack helicopter can provide, until there is something that can they will not be obsolete.

larger ammunition magazine size, new intake filtration systems, and new missile approach warning system (MAWS), more powerful WZ-9C turboshaft with 1,200 kW (1,600 shp) power, new infrared signature-reducing engine exhaust nozzle, appliqué graphene-based armor plates, etc. The ME is completely different beast then the original.
