I would rather see Pakistan invest in it's people, land and infrastructure and emerge as next China or South Korea or Germany.

Fun fact India also announced finding of one the largest oil reserves in their Indoman & Nicobar region which would place them among the list of top 10 oil reserves country.
 
Ok let me play devol's advocate here as it sounds just too good to be true.
What if this entire hoopla is to get India on track by showing stick of US leaning towards Pakistan strategically? What if India takes a step back from Russia and goes for F-15EX in MRCA deal and F-35 for their stopgap 2-3 sqaudron 5th gen after analyzing the cost benefit of going against Americans?
2ndly, though Oil in Arabian Sea is a reality, I don't think we must extract it before establishing strict judicial and anti-corruption framework else this wealth will be plundered by the same corrupt elite that has been depriving generation after genertion their socio-economic freedom at the cost of their own patty benefits.

I remember reading about such discoveries in India from the 90s.

Thing is, extracting the oil and gas from most of these ‘discoveries’ on a sustainable and profitable basis using current technologies is well nigh impossible.

Otherwise we’d all have become the Gulf States by now.

Look at indian propaganda in full swing. Also tells you about the extent of fake news that daily comes out of KP and balochistan bakced by indian bots. You can get an idea on how much they're working to introduce ethnic divide.

Why wouldn't we? You’re trying to do the same, just with far fewer resources, less leverage, and even less success. The difference isn’t intent.

You clearly know Pakistani history through Imran Khan's 200 year rule! Let me help clarify:
1- Oil and Gas exploration goes back to 1990's! When there was Saudi interest in building a refinery and joining US and others in for oil exploration in Pakistan. That refinery is now being built around Gawader. Constant changes in governments, made the Saudis back off. You need political stability for these massive investments that now exists.

2- Every company from Reko-Diq to oil exploration projects said Pakistan has vast resources of Oil, Minerals and near $ 100 billion Gold. Again, you need political stability for it.
PTI is trying its best to change that through playing national card in KPK that's visible in your and others posts.

3- There is always interest in working with Pakistan. But peacefully. We have people that are paid as political militia, likes of which you can see in other threads on Bajur and Baluchistan. Until these terrorists aren't taken out, these natural gifts can't be explored.

The good thing about the oil and gas is that it is all offshore. There is nothing that the Fitna-e-Hindustan can do about it.

I haven't gone through all the thread, so can someone please shed some light on the biggest claim that Trump made about the oil exploration? Did Pakistan really discovered oil reserves??? If so then how come we haven't seen or heard any news about it yet? People know that this is a significant development.
