Random civilian homes are being bombed. No combat or gunfire heard. Hamas mostly doesn't exist anymore. Israel is therefore primarily attacking the civilian population there in an effort to force them south to Egyptian border.

Israel will take Gaza city without a doubt and rather easily. It's already been invaded and taken over before. They just withdrew out of it.
There will be little to no resistant to that. Hamas is mostly gone. And even if they remained in a small form, it will be better for Hamas to allow them in to take it fast. In order to minimize damage to Gaza City from Israeli offensive. And minimize evacuations from it.
Therefore making Israeli army responsible for civilian population. If they're going to commit ethnic cleansing, they'll need to forcibly transfer people which is almost unfeasible and their army will have to interact with and take responsibility for the civilian population.
Which they do not want. They're banking on their terror tactics and annihilation methods to scare everyone into leaving. But they have to keep a part of Gaza city intact if people refuse to leave.

The Israelis have had a taste for slaughter and mass murder, what makes you think they will just resort to ethnic cleansing? They had made their intent clear at the very outset: slaughter the Palestinians to diminish their population and enslave and evict whoever remains. Unless a properly equipped and organized Muslim liberation army is sent nothing will change and the attack will continue. The damage to Israel through pot shot attacks by Yemen and Iran will easily be covered by the Israeli controlled US taxpayer resources. Entrusting IDF with the Palestinians is akin to entrusting the Nazis with the Jews at the Gas chambers.

US is handicapped by its own compulsions... curated ones at that... which set up a pie in the sky.
Big money is organized in the US and they have broken up every other unit or semblance of unity... family, collective bargaining, union workers, political, cultural or social! And when time gets tough they can just give a dime to highest pitched or vocal influencers and own the discourse. Politicians, in fact the whole political circus is bought and paid for... the costs raised every cycle to reduce both the input and voice of the masses... discourse channeled to presets. Laws made conducive to wipe the floor clean... big tax incentives, raiding the public pensions or publicly traded companies to serve the tiniest minority... why? Just because they can! They hold impunity over the system for the laws they made... the whole risk-reward is flipped on its head ... they get more because they took the risk but if the lose it all the collective must bail them out... THEY CAN DO NO WRONG, THE CHOSEN!
It is here where decisions of the collective are usurped to serve the few. Who condone genocide, use patriotism, nationalism, racism or any number of isms to get gullible to fight and die for their causes.

In light of the IDF’s preparations to expand the ground operation in Gaza City and to obtain operational control of Hamas strongholds, the IDF on Wednesday published a conversation between a Gaza District Coordination and Liaison officer in COGAT and a resident of Gaza City in the northern Gaza Strip.
The testimony exposes Hamas’ attempts to block the population of Gaza City from moving southward, in order to use the residents as human shields.

Hagai, a reservist in the Carmeli Brigade and a Hesder Yeshiva student in Haifa, is preparing to return to the front lines in Gaza. As he faces another deployment, he shares reflections on the intense experiences that have shaped him over the past year.
He vividly recalls the horrors of the October 7th massacre: "I was there, at the Supernova Festival, at Be’eri. We were among the first to enter what can only be described as hell. We fought terrorists face to face. They weren’t in uniform—they wore jeans and T-shirts. They looked like ordinary people, but their eyes were filled with pure evil. They came to kill, to slaughter."
When asked about his motivation, Hagai said, "In those moments, there’s no room for hesitation. Politics, the news—they disappear. All you see is what you're fighting for. This isn't just a military battle; it’s a fight for our very soul, our existence. For us, this is a sacred mission."
One encounter stands out in his memory—a moment where he came under direct fire.
"During one battle, I was hit with a burst of gunfire straight at me. Miraculously, I wasn’t harmed. There’s no other explanation but divine providence. That moment strengthened my faith in a way I can’t describe. My belief gives me the power to keep going—to fight for the people of Israel."
But not all came through unscathed. Hagai and his unit have lost comrades, and the grief remains a constant companion.
