See we are both talking about the world with real people, armed civilians will always cause bloodshed in some capacity, also I did mention in this very thread that living in US teaches me that you need to protect yourself in some capacity, hence I said that a Handgun is enough to protect yourself or family from any home invader. You can have Rifles and people with knife can still take you out when you are in bed so guns can no save you, also there was a story about a Indian man shot dead by cops in front of his own house when he was trying to fight off a invader.

Also your example of someone putting a gun to my family hand, bro a man can break into your house and hold your child hostage with a Freaking knife and you with all your guns and tanks and fighter jets will stand down in front of him, so please... your understanding of guns and how they work seems to be more aligned with Hollywood movies than reality.

Further, in the the shooting sports I compete in, I hold the tab of "Master" in NRA Across the Course (position shooting at 200 yards standing and sitting rapid fire, 300 yards prone rapid fire, and 600 yards slow prone) and Mid-Range Prone (defined as 300-600 yards). All were earned when the matches were iron sights only.

With just what I have in the safe alone, a shot from 130 yards in the prone position is nothing.

Then you must have replied to the wrong person. My view on gun ownership has not changed. None of my guns have committed any acts of violence nor have I used my guns to commit the same.

If you were to spend a day or two with me, besides the anday-walla burger, I would introduce you to firearms. In a few hours I could have you shooting reasonably well with a .22 at 50 yards.
