H-1B visas must end’: Wife of US citizen shares plight of landing IT jobs

Lol. At least get your facts right. The WH spokesperson has already said this does not apply to extensions. Kind some other copium.
Doesn't matter......eventually Indians on H1Bs will run out of the 6 year extensions.......and what will they do then? Start scamming again into E1/E2 Categories? Pretty much everyone knows how Indians scammed their way into USA with fake publications and title of extra ordinary ability. They ruining it not only for themselves but everyone else as well.

Can't take away from your hard work. However, Pakistan is not as bad as perceived. I was just in Pakistan for a month and I found the Pakistan of 2025 much improved over the Pakistan of 2019, and that was very surprising to me because I constantly heard about 'malnutrition' etc before going to Pakistan. Also Western tourists, who go to both Pakistan and India, often report Pakistan is better place to visit then India is. Pakistan also has a large unofficial economy and also 'Zakaat', one of the 'Pillars of Islam', is widely given and some people I met say they do that multiple times a week.

On paper, Pakistan does look worse then India and I believe the main reason is the political instability especially since Zia ul Haq's death in 1988. From around that time, Pakistan, except for a few years under Musharraf, has its corrupt ruling elites are constantly toppling each other but India, from about that time onward, shunned its 'Hindu Rate' of growth, has the political stability and continuation of policies. So India forged ahead while Pakistan started to lag behind. Political stability and continuation of policies is very very important which India has managed well, otherwise on 'corruption' scale, India is not much better than Pakistan.

Around 2017-18 things were normal. 3 IMF programs since then and devaluation/inflation have destroyed back of majority. It doesnt effect those with foreign income though.

Pakistanis of all should look in the mirror while talking about Indian middle classes. Check out the inflation, prices of common goods, prices of luxury but necessary goods (Car, Bike) etc and you'll know the difference. I get these videos from Pakistan where a 0 meter Alto is 30-35 lakhs or the most selling bike is still 70cc. Kya hi majjak hai

Is their income equality in India - nope. Is India a society where upper middle and rich classes have the best life - yes.

But India has done a much better job of improving life standards for millions.

Again, check your facts. There is no 6 year limit for those with approved I-140s. In any case, the order will soon be struck down entirely by the courts.

Yup - sure. I should consider it as long as you look in the mirror...

Hydra bro,

That graph proves that even in 1980, the South was ahead of Bihar and UP. Wonder why you worked so hard to prove the opposite of what you wanted to say?

Read somewhere that in 1947 UP/Bihar was ahead of south India. Its likely true looking at 1980 data. Even then difference isnt much in 80’s unlike now.

@hydrabadi_arab

Hydra bro,

The whole of subcontinent was broke in 1947. And to compound the felony, our Founding Uncle and his descendants messed up the economy after Independence. It was only in 1991, that the economy turned around. The benefit of that was reaped mainly by the South and West because the former had worked relatively better on improving its people while the latter benefited because it had a strong manufacturing/ trading base.

The point was that India “strategic” relations with USA has been huge boon for south India since 80’s and per capita incomes difference show that. And now if USA decided to reverse that then south India will suffer disproportionately as well.

Why only South India? Did USA say only South India should send H1Bs?

Why don't you again enter into strategic relations with USA? You already had one till 2008, no?

How did you dream up of this "strategic" relationship with the USA in the 80s.

Look at the title and look at the dribble you are posting..............

Why is Indian government now on the floor while they were criticizing the US and the entire Indian media was spewing hate towards Trump on putting tariffs due to Indian black market smuggling of Russian oil?

Now India needs sympathy so all of a sudden it's become a "humanitarian" issue because Indians must earn $ 100,000 dollars annually to survive? Indians weren't born to replace Americans. It's not a humanitarian issue for Americans without either proper jobs or have to settle at low income jobs because India has built an H1B lobby that commits massive human trafficking frauds and abuses Visas all across the globe?

Only India can make these things up and call it a "humanitarian" issue when a nation is only trying to preserve it's own workforce from getting extinct to India's H1B lobby.

As humans, these tech professionals can survive on lower income in India also. They don't must take away an American high paying job to survive.

The real issue is, like I've been saying, you've upset Trump and the entire West big times. You've taken trillions from them in business funding and incentives, nearly 10 millions in Western jobs, all to side with them and fight the Chinese. Now you are trying to be friends with China because you think you've grown to be a massive nation and in many ways above the West. So they would want their money and jobs back.

India warns new US fee for H-1B visa will have 'humanitarian consequences'

The Indian government has said a new $100,000 (£74,000) fee for applicants seeking US skilled worker visas will have "humanitarian consequences".

President Donald Trump on Friday ordered the new fee for H-1B visa applications, which is more than 60 times the amount currently charged, to go into effect on 21 September.

@r3alist bro

Here is something for you

Concerns over workplace favoritism and visa-related exploitation in the US tech and retail sectors have surfaced following a Reddit post by a former Indian employee, posted via r/india, where he shared his experiences.

The post highlighted instances of Indian managers allegedly favoring employees from their own regional or linguistic backgrounds while placing heavy demands on visa holders.

The user, who returned to India last month after working at Amazon USA, wrote that one reason for leaving was the behavior of some Indian managers. According to the post, these managers exploit employees on visas, relying on the workers’ vulnerability and the complexity of visa rules. “Honestly, I don't think DJT's reasoning is entirely wrong—there are so many Indians in higher positions who mainly hire other Indians, only to abuse them and their visa status,” he wrote. “They avoid hiring Americans because they know they can't push them to work 24/7, and Americans won't hesitate to sue if boundaries are crossed.”

He also mentioned similar patterns at other companies. At Walmart, he said, Telugu managers and employees dominate hiring, noting that “the only real hiring criteria seems to be 'are you Telugu?' and you'll get the job.” At Intel, preference is reportedly given to Gujarati candidates, with the poster adding that “My classmates from uni used to go play cricket with Intel employees to secure internships.”

The Reddit thread drew responses from other users. One wrote, “You know what’s the worst? The ones who abused the system to get the GC and Citizenship will never be the ones punished; it’ll always be the hard workers who don’t come from certain Indian states.” Another commented, “The favoritism based on caste, region, or language is definitely a problem.”

One user shared a related anecdote: “I have an older relative who’s a manager at a tech firm. She was talking about interviews and mentioned she interviewed two people for a role—an American and an Indian. She said she hired the Indian because she was ‘our caste.’ I wanted to throw up.”

The original poster clarified that his decision to return to India was not solely because of workplace issues but also due to personal reasons and the challenges of managing work across time zones.

He emphasized that the experience was valuable and that not all managers or companies operate in the same way. “Note: not saying don't go, it's definitely a good experience living in a first-world country. And I'm also not saying everyone is like this. I’ve gotten some really good opportunities to interview, and I’ll admit I regret messing a few of them up…life happens,” he added.
