Pakistan-Af: Operation Khyber Storm

Ever heard why the swat operation was the most successful operation we had in the last two decades?

The Pakistan Army's Operation Rah-e-Rast in 2009 was a resounding success due to the critical role of local support in Swat. Initially, the TTP gained some sympathy by promising swift justice, leading to a February 2009 peace deal with the ANP government that implemented Sharia courts. However, the Taliban’s betrayal—expanding into Buner, imposing brutal restrictions, and committing atrocities like public floggings—exposed their true aim of power consolidation. This disillusioned locals, turning them against the militants and setting the stage for the operation’s success.

The shift in local sentiment was pivotal. Outraged by the Taliban’s actions, Swat’s residents became the army’s eyes and ears, providing intelligence on militant hideouts and movements. In Mingora, locals identified TTP fighters hiding among civilians, enabling precise military strikes. Tribal elders and communities, feeling betrayed by the Taliban’s broken promises, rallied behind the army, viewing the offensive as a shared fight against oppression. This grassroots support transformed a complex counter-insurgency into a more manageable campaign, minimizing prolonged guerrilla warfare in Swat’s rugged terrain.

With local backing, the Pakistan Army swiftly retook Swat by July 2009, dismantling TTP networks with fewer casualties than anticipated. The operation’s success—evidenced by the return of 1.6 million displaced residents and the revival of Swat’s economy—hinged on this community alliance. that is why local support is very important

For those of us have seen TTP brutality since 2007 Baitullah Masood days when they assassinated Benazeer Bhutto, Pakistan policy or more like Pak army policy towards the group has never been clear.
Today we are bombing them, tomorrow we will start a dialogue. Th3 amount of damage this group has inflicted upon our nation has been unprecedented. But some we can never make up our mind on what to do with them.
I am 💯 certain that in 3 years time we will have started some kind of verbal engagement with them. And in 6 years time we have another Ahsan ullah ehsan we will be eliminating in Afghanistan.

TTP supporters desperately trying to establish deterence :ROFLMAO:

They follow up with attacks and play this game of cat and mouse, trying to dominate the escalation ladder.

They threaten and gaslight us into submission. They flip flop from aggressor to victim. Look how calculated they are.

The audacity. I hope last night was not a one off.

We are still owed atleast 100k collateral, so I hope the bombs get heavier.

THE PAKISTAN CITIZENSHIP ACT, 1951, Section IV, read it up.

There is an IHC case as well from a few years back.

So please stop making statements on the go. Thank you

Who made you a Think tank? Seriously??

Section IV of the Pakistan Citizenship Act, 1951, is titled "Citizenship by birth" and establishes that any person born in Pakistan after the Act's commencement is a citizen by birth. However, this is subject to two exceptions: a person is not a citizen if their father was an enemy alien at the time of their birth, or if their father was a diplomatic agent of a foreign sovereign power accredited to Pakistan and not a citizen of Pakistan.
  • 2024 Amendment:
In November 2024, the National Assembly passed a bill to change this policy, and it is now the case that citizenship by birth requires at least one parent to be a Pakistani citizen or a permanent resident.
  • The Pakistan Citizenship Act of 1951 deals with the deprivation of citizenship from existing citizens who are found to have acted in ways against the public interest.

What a BS presser. Presser like these are a reason why army losses popularity and support of the people. It shows how politically motivated the army has become.

Enjoying every bit of PTI and TTP lovers brain rot, TTP ka leader nai esa lag raha hai inka baap maar gaya ho lol @Areesh is attitude ke sath to Pakistan mai peace tu nai aye ga.

Like I said, please refer to who is validating your commentary here.
But sir, I’m not looking for validation, I’m merely posting my views and opinion's in the hope of having a civil and rational discussion. Who or why someone likes my posts is irrelevant, to me at aleast.

I dont understand your question, it is not straightforward

on the basis of half cooked question, i can say:
every country has a cult or a gang, which it supports overtly or covertly
Problem may lie within you, when you start you think, every thing should be black and white!
what do you find confusing ? The GHQ geniuses have supported and been rejected by Massoud, Haqqani, Dostum, Hekmatyar and now Taliban. You want to keep playing this game ?
Who made you a Think tank? Seriously??

Enemy alien is not defined and Afghans have been classified as refugees since 1980. The November 2024 bill was never passed hence the Citizenship Act of 1951 remains on the books. It's why Afghans born in Pakistan all carry Pakistani passports.

I don't disagree with that, but to go from a situation where the Afghan Taliban was considered the good Taliban and Faiz Hamid visited Kabul as a Fateh to Pakistan having to carry out airstrikes on Kabul (if confirmed) is a failure of statecraft, not some stroke of strategic genius. One should learn from mistakes, not celebrate then as success.
Failure of statecraft? Did you miss what I have mentioned in Scenario A and B? Pakistan has engaged with Afghanistan on this issue for 24 months prior to launching strikes. I would urge you to re-read my post which I took some considerable time to compile with an open mind.
