Pakistan-Af: Operation Khyber Storm

What if Taliban attacking Pakistan in a conventional manner by attacking border posts is a trap? Pakistan makes rapid progress by capturing Afghan border posts and starts sending more troops/resources to push deeper into Afghanistan. Then India attacks Pakistan when its committed a lot to Afghanistan basically trapping Pakistan.

Pakistan should mobilize civilians and form civilian militias. Reactivate pro pak Kashmiri militant groups like LeT. While Pakistan is fighting Afghanistan, civilian militia should construct defences against potential Indian invasion. Tribal militias in KPK who are pro pak should be used as supplementary manpower to capture Wakhan and strategic areas along Afghan border. Pakistan should keep its focus limited to Wakhan and strategic areas along the border in Afghanistan. It should avoid trying to capture any large civilian settlements rather capture peaks or areas that offer the ability to indirectly control these areas. Tribal militias should also be given tasks of defending their areas from TTP. Declare state of emergency and put everything on high alert. Pakistani molvis should be brought on live TV reiterating rebellion against the state is haram and TTP is khawarij. This should be translated in Pashto and Balochi and shown in all parts of the country. Massive amounts of cheap FPV drones should be purchased from China on an urgent basis and converted to suicide drones for use in Afghanistan. The aim of Pakistan in Afghanistan should be 1) capturing land enough to prevent any Afghan buildup or infiltration and 2) strikes that eventually cause Afghan people to rise up and push for regime change in Afghanistan.

Bangladesh should be Pakistan’s other priority right now. Send an ssg team there. Create JuD and LeT type groups based in Bangladesh with the aim of making Bangladesh India’s Afghanistan. It’s very important for Pakistan to light up India’s east right now. All insurgencies in seven sister states should be covertly supported. If Pakistan Afghanistan war goes on for longer than expected Pakistan should work to manufacture a Bangladesh India war. China should be requested to pressure India from the north if they’re willing.

A good turn up of this escalation is the free use of drones for surveillance and monitoring purposes over all areas of Afghanistan. The longer the escalation continues means Pakistan has more time to gather intel on suspected locations through drones. This opportunity didn't come before in such a way.
Pakistan should be operating drones for surivillance regardless if current escalation as long as afghans refuse to ban TTP and act against them

Not doing so was mistake..drones operation should have been continues untill afghans decide on this

I will up the stakes, i would add no contact untill they accept durand line, control their lackeys talking about attacking Pakistan and arrest all ttp

If they dont want to, just keep bombing them with drones or start arming northern alliance

@Signalian welcome back bro. Long time. Pray you have been well. And I agree, Pakistan must identity all ttp bla and destroy, use drones etc. We are ofcourse not in a war with Afghanistan but have no choice but to target terrorists who are harming us. Taliban says their are no bases in Afghanistan and we say they have, let's identify and destroy them.

I have no doubt about the first part of your statement. But what is the value of nuclear angle in this?

The differential in power is humongous and Afghans wouldn’t be able to do much in a conventional conflict. The elements of PAF with Armour and Artillery can pummel other side in a conventional conflict. Afghans wouldn’t be able to stop an advance into their territory.

Afghans never had that edge over anyone - USSR, USA, British etc. Still, none of them were able to hold onto that territory without taking significant losses. Losses that never seemed to stop. It is like a wound that just refuses to heal.

Pakistan may be able to drive their tanks all the way to Kabul but then there would be a question - WHAT THEN?

Contrary to tall claims and chest thumping in this regard, I would look at history and be a little cautious.
Yeah big difference. Pakistan doesnt want to send its soldiers to kabul, neither do we want to occupy Afghanistan and teach them benefits 0f lgbt. You need to get clarity on what are Pakistans objectives here.

Handing over Bagram is a reasonable choice if the thrrat to the killing of our soldiers, civilian men, women and children can be permanently eliminated. Pakistan first !

Only we were idiot enough to fight USA's war. USA will not do the same and it won't fight our war. Whatever it will be doing from bagram base, you can be sure that it won't be for your benefit. And what if trump is gone in 2 years and another president come who believe they don't like the way Pakistan do things ? It will start using the same base against Pakistan.

Then there is china factor as well. We facilitating USA getting a stronghold on yet another border of China ? How will look like ?

Plus there is CIA+MOSAD+RAW factor as well. They will be using bagram as operational base.

Americans at Bagram Air base will be a threat for Pakistan as well.

Remember the Abbottabad raid? What if they bring in Israelis their as well?

Only response Gen Kayani had was to tell Zardari to congratulate Obama.

Sir I so agree with you on this. That's exactly my point. The higher command of Afghan Taliban might have issued different orders to their forces on the border but in the fog of war things escalated for them and they had to retreat due to the conventional superiority of Pakistan Army and Air Force.

The Taliban have to be careful, this could mean the collapse of their regime

They have limited number of forces
No airforce
No air cover

So hitting targets is like hitting fish in a barrel

Taliban also have multiple rivals and enemies inside Afghanistan from isis to TTP to others
And they would love to take territory

Taliban can either agree to terms, or we can degrade them to such a extent that Afghanistan collapses then they can all deal with the aftermath

they attacked first and martyred 20 of our soldiers

and

even before that, during past 30 days, we were under constant barrage of infiltration, IED blasts and organized attacks from across the border!

no, this time it was different

suicide bombings, infiltrations, attacks on border posts and police stations.

this had stopped since 2015, in past 30 days, this all was happening at the same time.

just in past 10 days, all of these:

1. attack on police station
2. killing local chiefs
3. suicide attacks
4. IED blasts
5. attack on tropps

have occurred more than twice!

had gone beyond escalation. Just 2 days back, there was a major attack on border posts!
It hadn’t stopped in 2015,it continued after until now, you should put more efforts into your information incase if you didn’t recently.
Anyway let’s see what will be the outcome but it piss me off that our policies bring destruction every single year without any progress!

Such ops are easier to defend on diplomatic front internationally when the enemy makes the mistake of allowing such operations due to its own doing. There are other stakeholders inside Afghanistan also (especially USA) who also monitor what Pakistan is doing, apart from the talks that GOP had with Talis over TTP and other agendas. Talks are over now, thanks to India throwing Talis in the mix against Pakistan.

Probably secondary explosions due to ammo exploding.
A projectile can be seen at 4 seconds mark. Seems like a jdam / rek

What if Israelis are already there and operating inside Baluchistan also through Afghanistan ?
